OK, we know we lost a key spoke to the wheel, but sure will say it's the team that win's games and yes there is individual performances along the road that got us over a few hills, but at the end of the day and season, we'll remember this Team and all the spokes that kept the wheel going forward.

This thread is for positivity and motivational thoughts going into the MBB Sunday 4:00 tip off against another team that puts their shoes on the same way we do with a coach that has proven record just like CFH.

So, my question to the CY Nation, what are you going to do to think positively about the tomorrow's game? No negativity is allowed on this thread, the team don't need it and Lord knows we the fans don't.

Me: Going to ISU WBB game at Hilton to watch our ladies win, go by Johnny Orr's statue and reminisce then come home and watch "Remember the Titans", pick a few ISU videos to get me pumped.

What motivates you, gets you pumped up, what movie or video will you watch to get you going, your favorite Sports Movie Quote?

Lets hear some motivational thoughts from you............

OK, I'll try. When Babb got injured and didn't play the 2nd half last year, the bench stepped up and only a terrible charge call against Will kept us from knocking off Ohio State. That's kind of positive. Really we just have to hope Edozie plays the game of his life and everybody else can step it up, and we have a decent shot.

I am ALWAYS positive. I don't have/do anything special and have no superstitions...but do cheer on all Iowa State teams.

This team will find a way - All the way to the title!

GO CYCLONES!

Our coach is dreamy and knows what he's doing. Don't like it without GN, but the Mayor is in charge and we can all feel good about that!

Niang's injury, as awful as it is, will give Monte Morris that much more room to shine. He's shown us glimpses of what he can do. With the team counting on him to step up, I can't wait to see how much he surprises everyone. The kid is a baller, and he's shown us he can stroke it from three. Again, I can't ******* wait.

See, here's the funny part. Sure, we're ranked #9 in the country, and just sweot away a very good team, but we've just put ourselves in a remarkable position. If the team, with Niang, had won a couple more games, then exited the tournament, in the greater scheme of things, no one would have noticed.

Now, if they put together a deep run, with Georges Niang on the sidelines, the ISU Cyclones will be the national media darling.

What's not to like?

These non-big three observations help-

* Daniel's minutes and production in the BigXII tourney
* Naz's getting groove back
* Matt's two mid-range jumpers hit in big games in Big XII tourney probably a confidence builder. Have feeling he will show up, in some form or fashion (hitting shots, rebounds).
* Monte asserting himself more/deferring less (who knows what new we will see next with the Paige match-up)
* Dustin's all-around play/intensity/chip

Don't forget Dustin taking over in the Big 12's when ISU had foul trouble. We don't need one guy to take up all of Georges' production, we just need each guy to pick it up a little.

that being said, it is going to be a battle.

1. Hogue has been TREMENDOUS lately
2. Since the KU game, we've been playing much better defense
3. Naz has his mojo back
4. Edozie has stepped up in a big way the past couple games
5. Morris doesn't look like a freshman
6. Lastly, and most important, the leadership of Ejim/Kane

Losing Georges sucks, but there is still a lot of good things about this team right now. With the Mayor at the helm, I think we keep things rolling, it'll just look a little different. There's no reason to believe we're doomed.

Go State!

It looks like we're the front-runner for Anthony Lee at the moment! That has me pretty pumped.

We can definitely beat UNC and I actually think we should beat them unless they play great and we play bad. We still have too many offensive weapons and chemistry on offense. They did not look that good yesterday. They should have lost and Providence gave it to them. We still play great ball when he is resting or in foul trouble. Our guys need to just play our game. If we try to do too much different to compensate it will hurt us. If we had Georges and played UNC like we played NCCU we would win by 15-20 again. Without Georges we should still win by 5-10

As long as we don't get into HERO ball type play we will be just fine.

-Morris played great yesterday and is clutch - he will step it up.
-Long played great at the end of the season and in the big12 tourney - he will step it up and hit some shots.
-Hogue has really been playing great as of late and he will step it up too.
-Edozie won't have to play as great as you're all saying. He just needs to make his open layups when others create for him and play good Defense and rebound. I'm guessing he only plays around 15 minutes though, as we will most likely go small.
-Ejim is mister consistency he just needs to play his game.
-Kane is hungry, he is a gamer, he balls out in moments like this and he will step it up and lead us.
-Thomas has shown he can make some buckets off the dribble and we need him to do this to open up the defense when he is in.

GO CLONES!!!

*Edit
Also, I think we will actually be the same or a little better (especially when Edozie is in) rebounding and playing defense. I love Georges but his strengths are not defense and rebounding.

Just noticed -- so far 10 posts in this thread, and one name hasn't even appeared yet: Ejim

I'd imagine the positives about Ejim and Kane go without saying..

but I'll say it, Melvin and DeAndre exerting senior leadership THESE NEXT FEW WEEKS motivates me

Absolutely, and if we get him to replace Mel our front line depth could even be a strength next year. On another positive note we can be thankful we didn't have any season ending injuries to any starters earlier this year that may have prevented us from even getting to the tournament.

Although Georges is irreplaceable, it's an opportunity for Matt, Daniel and maybe Percy to step up and take advantage. Monte's role will be bigger. We are back in our more traditional role as the underdog and I think this team can run with that plus we've still got Fred. It's both a great challenge and a great opportunity and I don't this team is done yet. Go Clones!

Someone will step up big tomorrow, might or might not be enough to win, I am still betting on the win. There will be another Cyclone legend to talk about after it. Losing Niang sucks but know this team is going to rise to the occasion in some special way is really cool.

I have full confidence in Ejim and Kane. Morris and Long can slow down Paige. We have faced better guards in big12. My sleeper step up is Percy. He is built like a tank. He can give us solid defense and rebounds with UNC bigs. On the season as a whole the Tar Heels are not a good shooting team. Gibson, Ejim, and Hogue control the glass we win.
