I love it! They're trying to get points for McKnight.
Pretty much ignoring their coach, hilarious. :v_SPIN:
Their going to be fun to watch, can't believe how much has changed in a couple months.

Very impressed with most of the newcomers, especially Godfrey, Jake and Melvin.

Impressed with Bubu.......love how he drives the basket!

Jordan played well I thought......he has put on a little weight it seems since I saw him play in high school. I think he can develop into a great re-bounder and shot-blocker in time. Most of his offense will come from 4-6 feet or closer.

DG and Scott did well.....DG still gets a little out of control, and needs to finish better.....but hopefully FH can teach him.

Didn't see much out of McKnight......maybe he just had an off night, or it was the whole eligibility thing.

Not impressed at all with JVB. Still taking those long 3's and not playing all that tough underneath. Has he put on weight? I just don't see him running the floor much with a running offense. For a senior, he did not show much.

Overall, it was a good start. Loved watching Jake and Godfrey the most.

It was fun game to watch. I think players really enjoy playing together. Defensive intensity kinda disappeared on second half. If we can keep up what we had on first half, that would be awesome.

Congrats coach. You are one of very few undefeated coach in the world :)

Just got back from the game:
1. Jake Anderson played really hard. Good to see that kind of effort out of him
2. Calvin Godfrey will be a very important player for us in the future. Big guy who plays physical and goes all out
3. Much more exciting offense, more up tempo and taking advantage of fast break opportunities.
( I did catch a glimpse of McD style offense. With a minute to go in the first we were just standing there. I thought we'd learned:jimlad::wink:)
4. Liking the guard play. We don't seem to have much of an inside game, especially on defense, but I'm not that worried.

All in all, excellent way to kick off Hoiberg's coaching career. The future looks very bright

Interesting fact:

In the prior four years, we only scored 100 or more points once. We did it tonight in Hoiberg's first ever game. It means nothing, but the only 100 pointer in the prior four years was against D2 UNC-Pembroke last year. Interesting because we put up 96 against an NAIA (a division that's below Dubuque's).

It doesn't mean much, but is an interesting fact nonetheless. The first test will obviously be against the first D1 opponent, Northern Arizona, next week.
