Voted Young but it's close between him and Jackson. When Jackson would play early on, I would cringe every time he got the ball because he was forcing terrible shots with ball handling that would give him 0 space to get it off.

What a blessing to have so many close choices for this question! Could it be coaching?? ;)

I'm not sure it's an improvement year over year though. Prohm had the guys meshed and much improved at the tail end of last year as well.

Yeah he will have to improve his moves next year, he definitely has a teller move. Every time he does his in and out stutter dribble at the three point line he is pulling up with his right foot on the line.

At least towards the end of the season he seemed to stop forcing those shots and let the open looks come to him off the pass. That's why his shooting numbers have improved as well.

I couldn't decide between several players, so I opted for Steve Prohm. The team is looking more cohesive to me this year. It's truly a TEAM effort this yeard, since we don't have the one-man show thing going anymore. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE Georges, but he certainly garnered most of the attention on and off court...and it takes a group to replace what he brought to the game.

I went with Monte, with Deonte a close second. Monte has become a player that I didn't know if he could become (even earlier in the year). I've always been a huge fan, but I thought he would struggle becoming an assertive scorer, or that doing so would hurt the part of his game that really makes the team go (floor general). He's done all that and more.

In my book Burton. At the beginning of the year I still cringed when he got the ball. Now I feel we really lean on him not only offensively but defensively.

I voted for Naz. His ability to get to the rim this year has allowed him to be more consistent game to game. I also think that his defense has improved with better health.

D Jack has been exactly what this team needed him to be. A spark off the bench and a very good (probably our best) perimeter defender. I love the chip on his shoulder he plays with. He's my vote because he committed here thinking he'd be the man but has accepted his role being a great teammate doing what needs to be done to win ball games.

It's pretty telling to me that the biggest difference makers from the beginning of the season to where the team is now with the most impact on success is Burton, with Young being a close second. These could be interchangeable. Young has progressed with getting more playing time and his defensive movement has been much quicker on pick and rolls. His presence has opened up Deonte's game both offensively and defensively. Burton doesn't need to put the team on his back any longer. He's improved mentally with smarter passing and more efficient shooting. He knows he's a mismatch and his across the board statistics prove he's a difference maker.

In a sense there isn't a wrong answer, because it's evident everyone has improved in their own roles. I just don't think we would be here today without Young opening up Burton's abilities as well as him being more efficient.

Great poll GTO.

I voted for DJ. He got hyped big, then when the season started I thought he looked deer in the headlights, now he's balling.

I get why people voted for SY but he's always been good he just wasn't getting played.

He was nowhere near the level he is at today. He was getting spot minutes for a reason. Credit to him for a quick adjustment to B12 basketball.

KC
Freshman year vs senior year - Naz
Last year vs this year - Burton
Fan whipping boy to fan favorite - Thomas
Being awesome vs being really awesome - Monte
Beginning of year vs now (due to personal growth) - DJack
Beginning of year vs now (due to playing time) - Young

As KC mentioned, credit has to go to Prohm again. He again has his team playing its best ball at the end of the year after being heavily criticized early on. Just maybe he knows what he's doing.

If Weiler-Babb commits to working on his shot like Naz did, I really hope he makes this a no-contest decision next year.

I'm with GT-Br0. I went with Donny Jack. He had a rough start to the season, but has been solid as of late. Burton would be my #2. Minus @TTU, he's been more consistent.

I can't really call Solomon Young improved since I don't think there was enough of a baseline to start with.
