I feel like McGee is the heart of this team. I don't understand why he is not starting. Don't give me the energy off the bench crap either. He is playing outstanding ball and has a ton of energy. He deserves the respect of a starting position. Babb on the other hand is starting out just like he finished off last year with his shooting, and his defense is not yet up to where it was last year. He is a good player, but I feel like McGee deserves the start over Babb.

Any of the five starters were not setting the world on fire shooting last night. Tyrus looks like a starter to me.

I don't care if McGee starts or not, as long as he gets as many or more minutes than anyone else on the team when the game is over. He needs to play, and play a TON. Probably should get the most minutes of anyone IMO.

If everyone on the team played with the passion and energy that McGee did, we'd be nearly unstoppable.

Its a status and respect thing. He can say starting doesn't matter to him, but I guarantee it does. He has earned the honor.

Yeah, it might matter to him, I'm just saying that I don't care if he starts as long as he plays the most minutes. That's all I was saying. From my selfish point of view.

He's playing starters minutes and played crunchtime vs. Cinncy (i didn't see last night, but assume he did too). Setting up rotations and spreading out your best players minutes are both reasons to have him coming off the bench.

To be honest I don't know why Lucious is getting so many minutes. He isn't a good shooter, doesn't play smart, and turns the ball over a lot. He's in line for a serious *** chewing or benching in my mind.

Agreed about lucious...it's one thing to turn it over trying to get it into the paint but he makes lazy passes (which usually leads to 2 the other way) and fancy dribbling witch gets picked and taken to the hole. More importantly look at the shot selection....yikes an off shooting game is understandable but 3-8 2-7 1-5 is just not cutting it. PASS THE BALL.

Minutes are more important than starting / not starting. I'd like to see him @ 30 minutes, currently at 24 ish.

The thing with McGee is that he plays SO HARD that he can't play 35 minutes per game. I think that even if he starts he won't be on the floor as much as some other players.

Sounds like Chris allen of last year. It must be MSU and B10 bball prowess.

You have to start him right now he is the best player. I know Babb is good defender, but Mcgee is a freaking scorer and defends well too. Point guard play is another problem this year, give Naz more minutes was not impressed with Luscious, I hope he gets it together. Anyway Mcgee deserves a starting position.

It is early, but some of the mistakes Luscious made I did not see him making before the season started and I am sure he knows that as well. A lot of work to do with this team, but it can come together and will.

McGee altered the UNLV defense, when he was running off of multiple screens on the baseline to get free for 3 pointers. Even the homers on the UNLV feed were commenting on it.

I say start him, light a fire under everyone else. The level of intensity on the floor goes up when McGee is on the floor. He's always near the ball on rebounds, always has his hands up, and is always hitting his shots when it's on the line.

You can't ask any more of a player than that, and you reward people by giving them the top spots on the team.

Can we have Lucious play the point more and just get the ball to McGee please?

Also, I talked with Tyrus this summer and he said one of his goals for the season was to start. It matters.

He could easily play 35 minutes. Not an issue there.
McGee has been the best player on the team and if he keeps this up and Babb continues to struggle offensively there is little doubt McGee will be a starter by Big 12 time.

MaGee is much more effective coming off the bench after the opposing team starts to get winded, he would be the last guy as an opposing player I'd want to see coming off the bench, Tyrus is gauranteed to get a steal or 2 and ignite a run.

Te guys at the end of the cincy game are who I expect to see the most, KL, McGee, Clyburn, Melvin and Niang. Babb, Booker and Percy off the bench. Insert long if KL keeps playing like he is. Babb was an elite defender last year, he will get his time but if McGee can be consistent scoring, he will start IMO.
