Where ever there is danger.
Mike Nurse is a great guy. He used to do a bi-weekly podcast with one of his friends (or maybe it was a teammate) about basketball and his poetry. Mike wrote some pretty powerful verses. I would assume that when Mike's basketball career is over he will go full time into his poetry writing. I think I still have some of his podcasts archived on a hard drive somewhere at home if anyone is interested.

I actually thought no one knew about this, so I was afraid to say it. He was in my English 302 class and I discovered that he was a very gifted poet. I guess a gal he dated in HS was very spiritual and emotionally connected. Anyway, the two of them very spoke to eachother in poetic prose.

It's great that he's found a medium to show off his skills now.

It is, however, sad that the two of them will never be able to reconnect with a "long distance dedication" since Casey passed on. RIP Casey!

Ah, it's too bad I didn't know where he was playing earlier - I spent half of last year in Finland - I would have made a trip to see one of his games.

I had a radio show on Kure and we would have Mike come down and share some insight with us. I actually had no idea he was into poetry and you wouldn' know it by many of his candid views on various topics. Of course the off air stories were a lot better

Helluva guy!

Fact Check: http://www.deadoraliveinfo.com/dead.nsf/knames-nf/Kasem+Casey

Verdict: Alive

Site was updated on 3-17, so unless Kasem died in the last 72 hours, he is alive.

(Can't believe I just wasted my time on this!!):yes4lo:

Denial is the first stage of grieving. After the anger, bargaining and depression pass, and it's time for the acceptance, let me know and we will reminisce about Casey and the joy he brought to countless millions. That is all I will say about Casey.

Look, I don't mean to be rude here but this thread is supposed to be about Michael Nurse and the great success he has had since leaving ISU. He was a fun player to watch in Ames, and I am happy for him. I still wish he was doing his podcast though, that was some great internet radio.

Does anyone have the pic of Nurse holding LE back as he charged the ref at the end of the MSU game? It was made into a master card spoof.

I just uploaded it to the gallery, but I'm not sure where it went to...

That is one of my best memories of LE. After Nurse pulled him off the floor, he went over and sat on the MSU bench with Izzo. Everyone but the refs knew the Paul S call was BS
