There are a couple LB's at NW
Missouri St that are literally bigger and faster than most of our LB core.

Edit: DJ Gnader at NWMS - 6'2 225 and ran a 10.7 100m dash in high school. Do we have a single guy like that?

I'm not sure what they base these numbers on, but his 40 is listed at 4.92. Miller's is listed at 4.79, Knott's at 4.65, and Seeley's at 4.75. So according to these numbers we have multiple linebackers who are both bigger and faster than him.

Eh, I doubt a kid went from a 10.7 100 to a 4.9 40. None of our linebackers ran quicker than 11.4 in highschool that I can find. Either way I don't care to argue that I was just making a point that our linebackers are outmatched for the Big 12.

Yeah, something doesn't add up with the NWMS guy and his 40-100 comparison. If they guy ran a 10.7 then he is probably a 4.4 guy. If he ran a 4.9 he prob. ran an 11.7. It's hard for me to imagine a guy at any position that is 225 that runs a legit 10.7 going to DII, but I guess it could happen.

As good of LBs as ISU has had over the past 10 years it blows me away that all of a sudden the program lacks in that area now.

The whole D is so undersized it is not funny.

If you are going to bring short DBs into the program they better be damn fast.

Definitely agree that the injuries, players getting kicked off the team and so on and so forth have definitely left its mark on the performance of this years team. However, why is it that every year there is a laundry list of excuses for why the team failed so miserably? When the dust settles all these issues fall on leadership of the program.

At least Rhoads won't have to make any excuses to save his own skin. There are enough people making his excuses for him. And for the record I don't want for ISU to have to go through the coaching change process again. I really want Paul to be the man to bring this program together. He has a lot of the intangibles that we probably won't get in another coach such as his loyalty and passion to this program and wanting to be at Iowa State. Unfortunately the performance of our football program has been in a downward spiral and is at an unacceptable level right now and that performance falls on the leadership of the team which is the coaches and administration.

So far this year, there are 5 worse defenses in all of college football than Iowa State giving up yards.

1. New Mexico - 519 ypg
2. SMU - 516 ypg
3. UNLV - 513 ypg
4. Texas Tech - 513 ypg
5. Cal - 512 ypg
6. Iowa State - 511 ypg

We have given up the 14th most points in college football. Last year we have up the 17th most points.

Are you telling me the ISU D is chasing a #1 rating going into the 12th week? Cool, I did not know that. That's a reason to tune in now isn't it? Can they make it 525/game with one game to go?:v_SPIN:
