Would someone with knowledge in this competion help me out? How are points accumulated during this competition? Are pins and majores valued more, do the points increase each round, etc.? Thanks

Advancement in the bracket:
1.0 on the championship side
0.5 on the consolation side
(placing matches [1st/2nd; 3rd/4th; etc] do not earn advancement points)

Bonus points for victory margin:
2.0 for pin, forfeit, disqualification or default
1.5 for tech fall that includes near-fall points
1.0 for tech fall without near-fall points
1.0 for major decision

Placement points:
Usually 16-12-10-9-7-6-4-3 for the top 8 places

However, the placement points are awarded in an anticipatory fashion. That results in most of the weird jumps in team totals.

For example, guys that are in the semifinals can finish no worse than 6th place -- so 6 pts have already been added to the team total. If they WIN their semifinal match, they get 1 pt for advancement into the finals PLUS another 6 pts for placement, as finalists can finish no worse than 2nd place (worth 12 pts).
