any guesses as to who we have scoring points then? My guess:
Long, Fanthorpe, Mueller, Reader, Burk, Ward, Varner, Big Z, Thompson, and Carr?
i wouldn't have guessed they picked Carr and not Sorenson, but seeing that we have 10 in the champ side of things is making me think he is our 10th scorer.

So.. we have 10 in the champ bracket. That means we don't have anyone wrestling at 141. What weight are we doubled up in?

I'm thinking the 10th might be Dearden. If Carr is wrestling unattached, then we need to sniff out the other guy.

Iowa has 10 wrestlers, so that thing is wrong there. My guess is that Thompson is not scoring for us, but Dearden is (I haven't checked pts vs. results though).

is dennis for iowa hurt? why is he not wrestling in this? and why would slaton not be scoring for them?

Dennis is hurt and is being held out until the National Duals in a couple of weeks.

As far as Slaton I don't think he is eligible to compete for the University until 2nd semester therefore wrestling unattached.

Do you know if he's still at 133 or if he got bumped to 141? He was having trouble making weight last year, correct? (or am I an idiot that can't remember names?)

He is at 141 this year. You are correct that he was having trouble making weight at 133 last year and when he did get down to that he didn't have any strength left and couldn't beat out Dennis.

If he has his academics in order I look for him to be the 141lber for Iowa for the second half of the year, Marion will give him a run for his money though and LeClere can't beat either guy.

Varner gets a pin in the first period.

Beard, a freshman wrestling unattached, beat a returning all-american in the first round and dominated his opponent in the second round. Very impressive run to the quarters. Let's hope he can keep it going. He's not scoring for us but his performance so far bodes well for the future.

Is he just behind Ward then? Or are they thinking about moving him to 197 next year with Varner leaving?
