ISU has a better chance of beating Aggie on the road than you do of beating Baylor at home. you will beat KSU and you will be favored in that game, but that will probably be the last one of the season. I had you at 4 wins when picking the divisions.

If our defense is anything like last year Baylor will have its way with us again. Unless the QB regresses ... or teams figure out a way to nuetralize him (that we can run) its bad new bears.

Nice how you state that as fact. I would also be very surprised if we are favored @ Arrowhead unless we run the non-conf table.

I know it's weird, but my official prediction has ISU at 3 wins: NDSU, Army and an upset over BU. Original prediction but I'm sticking to it.

The Kent St, Kansas St and CU games seem too much like "How can we find a way to lose them?" games, but certainly the opportunities are there to get Ws.

How many did Dan win in his first 2 seasons?
How many did Chiz win in his first 2 seasons?

How the **** is 5 "successful"?!?! I'd think 5 would be "Amazing!"

First of all, you are right.

But, I also think that Dan and Chizik would have won more games than they did (in their first season) with the 2009 talent.

And, I hold CPR to a high standard and expect big things.

And, I really want to be optimistic!!!!

thats why i voted 5 wins

Just by looking at the poll, most Cyclone fans would consider this a successful season.

Any real, logical Cyclone fan would consider this a successful season. Even if we don't go to a bowl game, this season was much better than it could have been. There is a good-to-great chance that we'll finish 4th in the North after being picked dead last by everyone in the media. I also don't remember any media outlet saying that we'd win more than 3 or 4 games. Yeah. I'd say that our boys were successful. Here's to a 7-6 season!!!

I'm not expecting victories against Utah, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. Both UNI teams and the Big 12 North are beatable, but I don't expect to sweep it all. I'm sayin' 5, give or take a game.

Wow. A number of folks were right on the money!

I thought this was as good a place as any to thank Coach Rhoads for an exciting season, and thank the team for their outstanding effort through trials, tribulation, and injuries.

Thank you too, Jamie Pollard, for believing in this man and his vision for the future at Iowa State.

Go Cyclones:yes:

Great job to Coach Rhoads, his staff and to these resilient players! Blew my expectations out of the water (3-9, haha) and created some much needed excitement throughout this fan base.

Since Snyder didn't steal the North, Rhoads would undoubtedly get my vote for Big 12 coach of the year. Brown, Gundy and Snyder deserve credit, but in no way did they have the improbable season ISU did. In case someone is on the fence...Along with becoming bowl-eligible, ISU BEAT A VERY DECENT CORNHUSKER TEAM IN LINCOLN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER THREE DECADES!!!:jiggy:

These threads are always interesting to revisit.

I especially like all the posts from the Bears fans.

And according to the poll, only about 6% of fans on this site should be unhappy right now.

What is more exciting to me than the final record is the fact that we had reasonable excitement in the 4th quarter of 3 other games. We get over that hump next season, and we are in great shape.
Already looking ahead to next season and the schedule, I think a lot of us would be VERY happy with 6 wins next year.

Knew I had a post in this thread... and it was in response to this clown!

Reasonably, before the season, I thought ISU would have gone 6-6... hell, they could have gone 6-6 last season if it weren't for the epic season meltdown following the loss to Baylor. But I was prepared for a struggling year, and luckily, there was more to cheer about than to be upset about.

Just curious..... did this happen?

Haha, wow, I completely forgot about that. Nice call out there. :notworthy: Goes to show the faith I had in this program after the 5-19 Chizik wrecking ball came through.

I regret to inform you that it did not happen. Epic fail, I know. Don't think I ever meant it literally, rather as a comparative level of excitement.

If it's any consolation I proposed to the fiance' two nights after we became bowl eligible, under the Campanile.
