I really hope you are right but I've seen it too many times with the Twins to feel confident.
They're 2-9 over their last 11, pitchers have an astronomical ERA, and there is only 1 postseason quality starter (CC). Pettitte is just coming back, Hughes has been god awful at home and since the All Star Break, Burnett and Vazquez aren't MLB pitchers, and they're counting on Dustin Moseley and Ivan Nova to get W's. Throw in their record with vs without ARod, and I wish he was still on the DL. Bullpen is awesome with Wood, Logan, Chamberlain, and that Rivera guy, but they have to get the ball there first.

Minnesota should have the inside track to home field advantage. Yankees/Rays go Monday-Thursday next week. Provided the Twins don't cool off, which will happen at some point, they'll have the home field advantage.

Must be a Cubs thing. My brother, lifelong Cub fan, has been taking credit for the Twins success because he jumped ship in June and got onboard with the Twins.

Frankly, I take no credit for anything for the Twins. When I first moved up here I was hoping (beyond hope) for a Min/ChC WS.

I don't see anything wrong with wishing well for an AL team in the town I live in when I am a fan of a NL team. Is that bad form? I know a lot of people who are fans of a NL or AL team who have a secondary team in the other league.

I am a Yankee fan from back in the Mickey Mantle days. They are not playing great baseball right now although the games with the Rays this week were like playoff games with each going down to the last out. The Twins might be looking good in a 5 game series because they have two starting pitchers that look to be good as #1 and #2 which is something that has hurt them in the last few playoffs. Unless Pettitte comes back strong the Yanks are probably a better team for a seven game series as opposed to a five gamer. This year’s Yanks don’t seem to have that intangible factor that makes me think they can make the World Series even though they have a good bench and plenty of lineup firepower. Key player is Pettitte.

If that is the case, then I apologize for taking your post so seriously.

You know, it might be in your best interest to allow this thread to "die" instead of bumping it and reminding everyone who started this inconveniencing of electrons. Just a piece of advice...
