IMO the Vikes need to look at a CB at #11. CB's are extremely important in today's game and magnified even more in the North going against Rodgers and Stafford (not throwing Bears fans a bone here...).

Wouldn't mind a WR at #11 but I keep hearing this is a deep draft in terms of WR so I like a CB with their first pick.
Agreed. And with the schedule being released today, I could definitely see Waynes as the pick seeing that we play some teams with excellent QBs.

Im about sick of the Vikes drafting CB's. If AP is gone, I'd like to grab a RB in the 1st round. If AP is back, I'd like to grab a WR to help out Wallace. Zimmer is a defensive master mind and I think we are fine on that side of the ball. Zimmer can do more with less with his knowledge

AP is the wild card, but I see the Vikes going CB, LB, WR, and then RB.

CB is a need. And in a pass happy league, in a pass happy division, the importance of solid CB play is imperative. Rhodes is blossoming into a really nice player. Getting another CB to pair with him would go a long way to improving the defense. The #11 pick is a good spot for that. That said, I could see them going WR, safety, LB, OL, or D-end with that pick, too.

But, picking a RB at 11 would be a waste for the Vikings, imho. Even without Peterson, that position is not as great of a need as some of their others. Minnesota was in the top half of the league in rushing, last year, without AP, not to mention that running backs are just not as valuable as they used to be. For Minnesota, taking a RB at 11 would be a mistake.

I don't see any sense in believing that AD is expendable and also an RB is worth a 1st rounder.

Even the money saved, that's not enough for me to be willing to invest that much at RB in draft capital of I have that opinion of AD.

I also so don't think it makes sense to go WR for Minnesota unless it's one of the top 3/4 guys who have #1 potential. They can get starters at other positions in the 2nd/3/4Th rounds but the hole at receiver is just the lack of a true #1. Plenty of guys in the other spots.

Agree, we need a DB and LB with our first two picks. Still hoping the Vikes get a good trade offer for AP, and take Coleman with a late second or even a third round pick. Would love to have the GA. or WI. RBs, but they'll be long gone.

Honestly, I'm warming up to the idea of letting AP go to one of the teams who pick early in the 2nd round, and getting Waynes, a receiver and a LB or DE with their top 3 picks. Solid running backs who, can share the backfield with McKinnon and Asiata, will still be available on Saturday. Maybe someone like Artis-Payne or Karlos Williams.

There seem to be a lot of ways that the Vikes could go. The only thing I'm sure of, is that they aren't going to fill all of their holes this year. That said, I think it will be important to upgrade the blocking somehow, so that Teddy doesn't take another year of beating while waiting for the talent to catch up.

I'll compare it to ISU recruiting, since the teams have some similar issues on offense. If I could give CPR anything this upcoming recruiting class, it would be Matt Farniok, to start off the ball. So, why not solidify the Vikes' offensive line with a top 3 round pick somewhere?

Just an observation, Spielman seems to like picking slightly green, physical freaks--like Cordarelle Patterson and Anthony Barr. Just meandering through draft prospects, I'll idly comment that it wouldn't surprise me to see him trade around somehow, to wind up with a player like Aric Armstead. Not a huge need right now, I know, but that guy fits the profile, if anyone does.

That said, I think that I'll be happy whatever direction the Vikes go--as long as it fills some of the holes this time around.
