I've seen this posted a few times now. While I don't doubt it's true (I mean, I would hope so, as the WSU AD's number sold is pathetic at this point), do people just assume ISU fans aren't buying just as many through other sources? Just look at the price differences on each side of the stadium for tickets currently listed - that should speak for itself, no? In some cases the tickets are twice as much on the ISU side as the same section is on the WSU side.

Exactly. Plenty of pepole on here didn’t buy from Iowa state.

WSU played the #50 SOS. I get that they feel like they should have been included in the NY6 but when you look at the numbers, it's pretty tough to include them. WSU is a really good football team but the weak Pac12 cost them their bid.
In their defense OU cost them the NY6 right? If OU doesn't make the CFP, then UT doesn't get the Sugar Bowl and then WSU makes the NY6.

It will be tough to tell on TV - Wazzu crimson is very similar to ISU cardinal from a distance. :)
That's why I'm going with the Gold. But the noise level will be a give away also. Google says it's 2000 miles from Pullman, so definitely not practical driving distance. I'm expecting 75 - 80% Cyclones. Travel distance + Alumni in the area + ISU is JACKED for this game. It's the best bowl we've ever played in. Almost like being a real football team. The stars are lined up for a massive disappointment, but we hope we can Trust the Process.

I'm both excited, and sad we are playing WSU.

Would root for WSU against anyone but ISU; love Leach, and what a great attitude Mishew has.
It will be a lot more fun playing someone we respect rather than a bunch of horse's *sses. Free advice for WSU: That New Years Day Bowl is gone, but there is a game in front of you where you can represent. And you're not playing Boise State on their blue field.

I think this game will be a good one and hopefully well played, likely will be close. If my own finances allowed I would love to go. From what I can tell Cyclone fans seem to be a decent lot, and the pregame festivities should be a blast. The last bowl game I went to was the 2003 Rose Bowl with my now late father. As it turned out Oklahoma plastered the Cougars so it was disappointing game from that stand point but almost worse was the truly high percentage of ******** amongst the hordes of Sooner fans. As a group one of the rudest, most conceited and arrogant group of fans I have ever encountered. Unless I miss my guess such could not be said of Cyclone fans.

So for all who do go. Enjoy and do your best to take either the victory or the defeat with grace.

Oklahoma fans are disgusting in many ways. The arrogance, the obesity, the general anger derived from their lot in life. All they have is the Sooners. It's an ugly, ugly combination.

From what I read over on https://washingtonstate.rivals.com/ the Cougar Lair freeboard. Most Cougar fans are getting their tickets through sources other than WSU, for the main reason that the WSU Athletic Department has crap endzone seats. I expect if prior experience holds the number of WSU fans travelling to the game should be pretty respectable. May not be in the majority certainly, but there will be no shortage of crimson and gray in San Antonio.

Ope.. Hopefully all of those WSU fans getting their tickets from other sources weren't using TicketCity. Unless you guys have a strong alumni presence in Iowa, this isn't looking good for your attendance figures.

https://blog.ticketcity.com/bowl-game-sales-data-2018-2019-bowl-games/

Alamo Bowl

* The Alamo Bowl is the top-selling bowl game outside the New Year’s Six.
* More than half of the sales (51%) have come from residents of Iowa.
* Compared to only 4% of orders coming from Washington state.

Anyone know why there aren't similar numbers posted somewhere for Stubhub and other outlets? Is it crazy to think TicketCity's numbers might be indicative of other outlets? If so, we could be looking at a 2/3 Cyclone crowd

I think because Iowa State will be a majority of the crowd and make the most noise, the WSU red will just make our fan presence look even larger.

On the contrary, I was in Norman last year for the ISU upset and the Sooner faithful were very polite & generous to our group.

I was there as well, and I've spent extended time in Norman. I completely agree that they were oddly gracious in defeat.

But on an every day basis, the area carries a weird vibe. When it comes to the Sooners, their arrogance is pronounced, but there's also a huge chip on their shoulder. I'm guessing it's a Texas/Oklahoma dynamic. Norman is a perfectly normal college town, but I always got the sense they don't like outsiders.
