***MLB Postseason Thread***

I'm not sure if I should be happy as a Cardinals fan that the Tigers are breezing past the Yankees or if I should be concerned that they look so good... Although at this point it is looking like most of it is just the Yankees imploding.

That part doesn't really matter. What matters is you're going to face Verlander possibly three times.

CC Sabathia doesn't even make it thru 4 innings.

Part of it is the Yankees imploding, but the major part of it is the Tigers' starting pitching has just been that dominant - up to this point Tigers' starting pitching has given up only 6 earned runs the entire playoffs.

Yankees don't seem to care. "Hey, CC gave up another 2 run homer..should we pull him?"

"He's fine..Would you toss this ball up to that sweet looking skank in row 3?"

That is a possibility, but one the Tigers probably don't have to rely on. Like I said in my previous post, all of the Tigers' starters have given up only 6 earned runs the entire playoffs. Verlander has given up 2 of those himself.

Poor poor yankees! I hope the Cards can beat the Giants I would like to see another Tigers Cards WS.

What's really funny is the pessimistic attitude Detroiters had most of the season about this team - a lot of it deserved. A lot of Tigers fans wrote this team off before the All-Star Break, and were just down on the team the whole season. While I got down on the team a bit too, I always maintained the attitude "Just get to the playoffs." Now look where they're at...

Not really, seeing Swisher gone is a win in it's own. Also, if the Yanks can get rid of A-rod to the Marlins that works too. Coming into the season I didn't like the age of the team...hopefully it's a wake-up call to management to make the team younger.

I can't believe they are ALCS Champs. With two weeks to the end of the season, down 3 games with 12 to go I was in the camp that it was over. Never thought the White Sox could go on that kind of losing streak. I don't know who I want to see them face? Cards just always seem to win as the under dog and I don't want to see the Tigers lose to them again.

Well the Yanks better nut up and eat 80% of that contract for that to happen.

I had the same attitude with the Cards during the year. The Cards must have some rabbits foot in their dugout because the luck that has befallen them the last 2 years is almost unbelievable.

If it's going to be Tigers-Cardinals, then I'd rather the Cardinals close out tonight - that way it's not just the Tigers sitting on the shelf for an extended period of time waiting for the World Series to start.

Yeah, not sure a 5 day layoff is a bonus for sweeping the Yanks. If I could be assured the Cards would win, I'd almost prefer they win in a game 6.
