Fact= the more interest in our football program, the more seats will cost EVERYWHERE as they will sell them for the most they can get as they should, and the less kids will be able to play like they are at a high school game. Might as well start getting mentally prepared for this now. I am not trying to tick the family crowd off, just pointing out the obvious.

I have 5 year old and 3 year old boys. However I know that having a real football program will take precedence over my kids play time.

They get plenty of play time in during tailgating when they do go with us. Last time we sat on the hillside with them there wasn't enough room for them to play anyways as we were right next to the overflow students on the North end.

As someone who hadn't ever HEARD of ISU until I was 16 years old (growing up in B1G country will do that to ya) I don't think we need to accommodate kids running around at a D1 game because they may be "future students". All the games are on TV now and they are playgrounds and huge suburban backyards for horseplay. I went to a ton of HS through pro games as a child and I can tell you I remember the ones where my team won a lot more than the ones where I played catch in the parking lot or under the bleachers. Let's have a family-friendly tailgate section if we want to accommodate these families. I don't have kids so maybe you can call me out on that but I'd rather have a sold-out stadium than an accommdating one.

This pretty much sums up what I feel. While I agree that we should encourage a family-friendly atmosphere, if we can fill that area with season ticket holders instead of kids playing grab-***, it's much better for ISU. Kids are definitely the future, but they can sit in a seat and (have their parents) pay market value for the seats. When these seats get expensive, well, may not be great for families but is great for ISU. Take your pick. Either way, even if completing SEZ, ISU will still be much more affordable and family-friendly than most other stadiums.

Don't be silly. After the SEZ is bowled in, double-decked, and CPR keeps the program building, the next thing to talk about will be bowling in the NEZ. So what if the Jacobsen will need to be...remodeled a bit?

Jamie Pollard was on for the first 30 minutes of the Monday call in show and shared some interesting tidbits on facilities:

1. After the football team vacates their current locker room and offices, the space will be remodeled and utilized by others. Women's softball and soccer offices will be moved there. Other office space will be made into an athlete "commons area" plus a cafeteria. The current football locker room will eventually be used by the visiting football team. Visitors will enter the field on the east side while ISU will enter via the west. This will mean teams crossing the field to get to their respective sidelines. Approximately 30% of college stadiums use this crossing arrangement with no problems.

So the other 70% of those who cross have problems?:jimlad:
