No, not nearly 3x. Just over 2x, but still amazingHe's first. Nearly three times the assists as the '#1" guy.
still consistently left off top 5 pg lists, which is dumb.
I get putting Dunn and a couple other guys over him but Vitale, for instance, listed 7 guys the other night as the best PGs in the country and one wasn't him. That's just blatent disrespect. He could end up leading the nation in A/TO his first three years.
Especially now that Monte is also one of the best scoring PGs in the country shooting a better FG% than pretty much every other top point guard. The only PGs scoring more than him typically are doing it because their FG% and TO #s suck compared to Monte's. There's really no metric to criticize him at the college level anymore.
With the A/TO record the last two years a lot of players started out 4+ then in conference play would slip down into the 3s. This year a handful of guys stayed up in the high 4s and 5s. Still insane he'll set or be near setting an NCAA record for a third straight season.

It's my impression that it's his usage rate. He doesn't even crack 20% which kind of lowers his exposure. It will be interesting to see how high that goes next year without Niang around.
If you compare Monte Morris to 2013 Trey Burke, they are pretty similar. The differences seem to be explained by Burke having more responsibility. I compare him to Burke because I think their skillsets are similar and Burke was the NPOY.
