Agree. I've posted on here before of how Haliburton's game reminds me of Morris's his freshman year.

You have to give credit to Prohm's coaching of PG's. Both Babb and Haliburton have a high assist/turnover ratio, #'s 1 & 2 in Big XII. (Monte did as well, though he exhibited that prior to Prohm arriving.) Let's not forget Prohm deciding to put Babb at the PG position last year which he'd never played before.

As an aside regarding tyrese, I would love to meet his father. He must be quite the character. Prohm has brought him up at least 2 times in his press conferences.

He's been very good, yes, but...Who do you drop?
I would have THT come off the bench personally, just because I think he and Wigginton are similar enough players. THT is longer and probably a better rebounder, but Wigginton is a better pure scorer and offensive playmaker. Haliburton is too dynamic everywhere else, where THT and Wigginton may not be as much.

This is the one that caught my eye. Hadn't thought about it much yet but a 6'5" PG that's playing this well already makes a lot of sense. His role this year is similar to Monte's in his FR year and he'll have plenty of opportunity next year with Babb and Lindell gone.

We did, briefly, in Maui. I don't think he knows any strangers...he greeted everyone in C&G like they'd been best buds forever. He was everywhere - he even participated in a shooting contest during one of the TV timeouts.

Haliburton is very much a 6'5" Monte....doesnt score much, but can....dish first guard. Love the pass fake threes too....mentioned he is like Brock Purdy out on the basketball floor last night....that made me laugh for sure.

I know what you mean. One of the pass fake threes (that he missed) fooled the defender so much it gave me a good laugh

Just for ***** and giggles, here's the per 40 comparisons from Monte and Tyrese for their respective Freshman years:

Points RBs Assists Steals TOs Blocks 3P% 2P% FT%
MM 9.6 3.6 5.3 1.8 1.1 0.3 40.6 44.5 84.7
TH 8.7 5.8 3.6 2.7 1.0 1.3 40.7 80.0 50.0

It's not a completely fair comparison since Monte's includes the conference games against the big boys, but what stands out is that Tyrese is a much better defender - and is finishing in the lane at a tremendous rate (12/15), but he's only shot 4 FTs.

Halliburton has quickly become a favorite of ours to watch. He just has so much fun out there! I think there's a little bit of Georges in him, personality-wise.

Ours too - he has such a sense of calmness about him, for a true freshman. He really knows the game, that much is apparent.

Haliburton has arguably been the team's most valuable player. I'm of the opinion he needs to stay in the starting lineup when Wigginton gets back. Does everything well.

EDIT: not replacing Wigginton, may be confusing. I would have Wigginton replace THT in the starting lineup. Wigginton has to start, obviously. He's our best player.

I was saying the exact same thing about Lard, the only difference being that I was thinking he was our second best player. But he has to start, right? But I changed my mind after watching Jacobson in these first 8 games. Jacobson is way more consistent than Lard. Lard is flashier and more athletic, but Jacobson is Mr. Dependable.
