Les Miles- Has to be #1. Sure he has won a national championship and had some great recruiting classes at LSU but all you have to do is watch an LSU game to see that he has no clue what he is doing. As bad of a start as Rich Rod has had at Michigan....they are still in a ton better shape having him be the coach than Les Miles IMO. The guy has won more lucky games than any coach I can remember. Games where he tried to make LSU lose and his talented players wouldn't let him

Vince Carter- Maybe not so much anymore but for years people threw him in as one of the best in the NBA. Never saw it.

Tom Brady- Here me out! Here me out! I think Tom Brady is a great QB. A Hall of Fame QB. I just don't think he is a top 3 QB of all time like I hear some say. I think he has been part of a great organization with a fantastic coach and has used that to become a great QB. But when Cassell when's 10 games there when he hasn't started a game since he was a high school kid....you have to wonder how much is Brady and how much is the system. Like I said, love Brady's game, sure Hall of famer. Top 3? No way IMO. So a tad overrated

Who do you guys say?

Who's arguing that Tom Brady is top 3 QB all time? I've never heard that from anybody with a shred of credibility. He clearly isn't better than Payton Manning, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, or Dan Marino, and possibly a handful of others. I've heard people argue that he's a top 3 QB in the league RIGHT NOW (along with Manning and Brees), and I would certainly buy that argument. But I've never heard it argued that he's top 3 all time.

Dave Wanstead (probably spelled wrong, but he's not worthy of a google search). He's not really highly thought of, but the fact that he has a job means he's overrated.

I've heard it argued plenty. 3 super bowls and if he wins a 4th he will be with Montana as best ever. I hear that a lot and don't buy it. Same as Roethlisberger. Solid QB in a great organization. Give me Dan Marino over both

Haha it was a tough call be Dave and Les. Both suck but Les coach's a higher profile team and has had better results so I gave him the nod. But you are right. Dave W is one of the worst coaches in football

Bradshaw was not that great of a statistical QB.

Terry Bradshaw - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tom Brady is much better statistically
Tom Brady: Career Stats

To me the arguments of comparing two NFL players from completely different eras is not a good one to make. When Bradsaw played the offenses were more run based and especially because he had the "Steel Curtian" Defense and Franco Harris to hand off to. Bradshaw was asked to control the game, dont make mistakes and let the running game and the Defense win the games

Tom Brady was asked to be the leader of the Pats. The offense is based around him and his skills and offenses are much more pass oreinted than they were in the past.

Its hard to argue that Tom Brady is overated, look at his stats/awards compared to others during HIS playing time (Manning/Farve/Rothlesburger (sp)).

PS I hate Tom Brady and the Pats.

Since this is a pro sports board, I'll stick with that.

NBA-Phil Jackson. Even I could win at least 6 championships with Jordan and Bryant both in their primes.

NFL-Tony Romo. All hype; no return.

MLB-Derek Jeter. GREAT leader, but on ability alone, not that great.

Gene Chizik !
Case closed. His success depends on Gus Malzahn and superior athletes. But he can't coach

Les Miles is THE WORST coach in regards to time management in the country. I have seen more boneheaded time management from him than I have all other coaches combined.

I always thought Gary Payton was very overrated as an NBA player in his prime. He'd have never been in my top 10-15 picks if I was starting an NBA team from scratch, yet he was considered a superstar. He got a lot of run out of taking a team to the finals out of a horrible Western Conference. At best he was the 4th-5th best point guard of his era. On defense, let's just say a glove makes a lot of steady contact with a hand, for whatever reason he was officiated like Jordan even though he was only a good-not-great player, guy could work the zebras like few others.

Elway was a great NFL QB for sure, but I think he's often elevated to "greatest of all time" discussions when he really doesn't belong with some others there.

I like this one, he is talked about a lot as a great player but I dont see it.

Another one that I hate to mention as a Bears fan is Brian Urlacher. He isnt even the best LB on the Bears team (Briggs)
