Speaking of Aaron Cashman, what's with him not being on any of the national rankings? Flo and Intermat both don’t have him. This has probably been discussed, but my quick search results came up empty. Is he taking a year off? Going to OTC? I admit I don't know much about the OTC, so I don't know if this is even an option for him, but it's pretty much all I could think of.

I'm assuming he didn't drop out of the rankings due to performance.

He is at the OTC for his senior year. He is still wrestling some big HS tourneys this year though. He is a stud.

I believe Diblasi is wrestling 138 this season. I have doubts he will be 125 and certainly hope they don't plan for him to be.

I seriously doubt he will be 138. Colston thought he would wrestle 126 a few months ago. He’s about the same size a Bennett.

I'm sure you know more than me. I was going by the weight he is ranked at. Often, rankings nominations are submitted by coaches so that preseason weights are fairly accurate. Doesn't mean that's where he will wrestle.

He looked good, but he beat a true freshman who has zero quality wins.
Let's see what we know:
1) He won.
2) I don't know how anyone could consider it a bad win (see #1).
3) He didn't lose (see #1).

Conclusion: It's a good/big enough win that there's no reason to rain on the parade just to stifle enthusiasm.

All in know is that Parker mentally broke DeSantos in that match. Watch DeSanto in introductions & the 1st period. He had his head between his legs in the 3rd
I've watched the match twice and have to say 2 things.... 1. Parker was VERY impressive and I would have never know if Dresser had not said that he wasn't feeling his best. 2. I personally would not say Desanto was "mentally broke". He's a tough wrestler who stayed on the attack all 3 periods. Parker was just better in pretty much every position. Parker went toe to toe and beat him straight up even when he wasn't feeling 100%. The future is bright for Mr. Parker (and Mr. DeSanto). :)

And not to be forgotten, California only has one class. Each state champ is the absolute best wrestler at that weight, and Mejia was a 4-timer. DeSanto is legit.

But it’s not like this was really up for debate, it was only one guy trying to diminish Parker’s W, for whatever reason.
I don’t think I was trying to diminish, just looking objectively. Desanto was a good, not great, high school wrestler. He may turn out to be an amazing college wrestler, but we just don’t know.

For all of you listing his high school accomplishments, list Meeks and Colbray’s right beside Desantos, and you would think they were better. If high school record is what counts as a very good college win, I guess it was a very good win for all 70 guys that beat Meeks in his career. I don’t think beating Meeks in college was anything to brag about.

This might have been a great win for Parker, or maybe he just beat an average guy. We just don’t know, so I’ll wo this judgement.

Here is to hoping Parker beats Erneste this weekend and gets a legitimate good win.
