You guys can **** and moan all you want about when and why Mess needs to be fired. Does his play calling suck? Yes, absolutely. But ultimately it comes down to talent on the field. We are light years behind on both sides of the ball. I watch alot of college football and its never been more evident than it is now. At this point why not play Lanning. Rohach is garbage. This offense needs someone will to take control. And at this point the seasons a complete loss. I'm tired of the excuses and pats on the back its time to fight for the future.

While I agree that Mangino would be a great option, I'm not really sure he would desire to get back into the Texas League. All he'd have to do is watch the last UT drive from our game with them and he'd say "that brings back bad memories. You can't compete with the Texas dollar signs if you're one of the little fish in the big pond."

If it just comes down to talent on the field we might as well fold our football team and hand out those schollies to some engineers. I got news for you, we never have and probably never will have close to the talent that the other teams in our conference have. When programs are built from nothing they don't suddenly have a bunch of talent. They have a coaching staff that is creative, does something different to start winning. Our staff's offensive approach is to look at what schools with much more talent are doing offensively and try to implement it. To be competitive our coaching staff cannot be average. They cannot be followers. We have to be better at player development, gameplanning, preparing players to execute and in-game playcalling and adjustments.

Mess does need to go but to say Rhoads is an issue is stupid and to say we need better recruits.. have you seen next year's class? As long as they stay commited next years class could be the best we have seen in a while.. but we need to be better at qb and oline...

Mangino and sage as QB coach so in a couple years when mangino gets a head job the keys can be handed over to sage...if not I hear this Robert McFarland guy is amazing!!!

One of the only positives from last night is that I think Rhoads knows the issue is the offense mostly.

After the game he commented how the defense stopped Baylor on its first drive of the game and forced a punt. Then he said that Jarvis West put us in great shape with his 40 yd punt return into Baylor territory. But the offense went 3 and out, and we had to give the ball right back to them.

Then Baylor scores he says, and we get the ball back and Wimberly fumbles to give it right back to them again. Before you know it, it's 14-0, but the defense hasn't really played all that bad at all yet.

I said to myself going into this game that if we could somehow manage to get the first two scores on the board, it would be a dogfight, but if Baylor got the first two scores we could lose by 60 pts. Unfortunately the latter happened because of our lack of offense.

Get a new OC tomorrow IMO. This season is lost.

Does Mess ever have a plan to go against the blitzes every team throws against us. Keep a back in or have the tight ends stay in and help. God knows we don't ever pass to them an a wheel route or a slant in the middle.

After the game last night, Rhoads commented about how Baylor's defense does a great job at playing so close to the line of scrimmage. No kidding Paul. Baylor had all 11 defenders within 10 yds of the line of scrimmage most of the night.

Problem is, most OC's would be drooling over that situation and exploiting it down the field. But your's still tries to beat with the read option play up the gut. Amazing.
