NBA to fine for flopping

When will they start fining referees for not calling traveling?

Give me a break. It's the official's job to determine it, and if it is its a no-call.

This is another reason I do not like the NBA. I do watch the playoffs because they are usually pretty good basketball. But this stuff is silly. Let them play, let the officials earn their money.

Ah, the more I see of the NBA the more I believe the league is quite mismanaged.

In other news, Adam Haluska is to hold a presser later today, declaring his boycott of the NBA and formation of the FBA - Flopping Basketball Association.

Looks like Manu and Kirlenko are out of a job if they can't flop anymore.

Wow, I didnt' expect the negative reactions. I think it's great, nothing ruins a game like somebody flopping around on the floor like a fish out of water. Yes, the officials should handle it on the floor but if they can't or wont then this is the next best thing.

I don't disagree flopping needs dealt with - but deal with the officials - not put some crazy fine in place for it. What next...fines for fouls?

I think they can fine for intentional fouls. Since flopping is intentional by definition, I don't think this is too far out there. Of course injury typically doesn't occur from flopping.

There's much more flopping in basketball, its just not as dramatic, where in soccer they act like they got mauled by a bear.

Wow, I was coming in here to say the exact same thing.

Did you watch the Spurs/Lakers the other night? Tim Duncan had a fast break dunk where he seriously took 3-4 steps. He did a stutter step and then two after that. It has to be impossible to miss that. I was watching it with a friend and we were laughing out loud.

Ginobli will take a huge paycut.

Who me? That's how we play in Argentina!

Or Kobe changing his pivot foot three times at the top circle...

In the game last night a guy for the Pistons got the ball between half court and the 3 pt line, nobody close to him and the ref looking right at him, he pivots a couple of times then picks up his pivot foot and pivots on the other one a couple of times. All without dribbling the dang ball and nothing is called.

Another thing that irritates me is illegal defense. Let them play D however the **** they want to.

For how much I hate him I don't think there needs to be fines for trying to fool the refs.
