Going to make some calls tomorrow and already know I want Lennox. Thinking of calling Wycoff, Lozier, Dorrian (Waukee), Adel Heating & Cooling.

Anyone have a good/bad experience with any of these companies. What SEER rating would I want as a minimum? Is there a noticeable difference between 16 and 21 (at least worth the incremental cost)??

What type of cost should I expect?

House is about 2850sq ft.

Had a lenox now for 3 years, it died 3 times this summer. And now I am having to fight lennox to cover the repairs.

I put in a new AC and heater, plus a house filter, and humidifier. It was darn near $7k.

We had Wyckoff install a 2.5 ton Coleman A/C unit at our place about 4 years ago. They did a great job and had the best estimate and stuck to it. We have about 1,500 sq/ft.

The Coleman unit is surprisingly quiet and pretty efficient compared to the old unit that was there.

Yeah...I read your old thread from 2007. Had good luck with the Lennox one I have that needs replaced. Has a pretty good leak and I'm getting tired of paying to have it recharched. I think all the brand names are pretty equal (Lennox, Carrier, Rheem, Trane, Amana, etc.).

Wycoff did the original install on my house. No real complaints I guess. They will get a call tomorrow.

hey dont know if you got my message but what seer rating you get will depend on what refrigerant you have in your system now weather it be R22 or R410. Also it will depend on how old of a furnace you have if you can even get a higher seer because if you get a high seer ac unit and you dont have the right size evap the system wont work right

You owe it to yourself to call Rick at Kohles and Bach, saved me a bundle over the other local Lennox dealers and his guys did an excellent job. Rick owns the business and is a super guy to work with. Send me a pm for his cell phone #.

Might want to call Randy and see if he is able to get out to Clive. Cyclone family and they do a good job. They did both my house and my parents house (Lenox) and were cheaper then any other company we called.
