If we play 10 conference games and win ccg…kind of should automatically go in front of the teams that only play 8 conference games.
Now you’re bringing logic and common sense into an argument that only listens to ratings and profit. How dare you, sir.If we play 10 conference games and win ccg…kind of should automatically go in front of the teams that only play 8 conference games.
We 100% will not be hosting a game. It’s either jump Boise to get a bye or playing on the road as the 12 seed.wonder about the potential of ASU finishing above Boise if they win. Although these aren’t the CFP rankings so it will be interesting to see if they move to 12 in those. I was thinking they would be 14 and us 16. Hoping for a Boise loss and cyclone win that would give the big 12 winner a bye. Wonder with some of these schools just above us losing if we would host first round with a win and where that might be played (doubt they would play on a frozen Trice in mid/late December).

Ummm.... unless I'm missing something, the teams getting a bye also are getting a home playoff game.We 100% will not be hosting a game. It’s either jump Boise to get a bye or playing on the road as the 12 seed.

You are missing something. Only first round is played on campus and there zero shot we move up to 5-8 by beating ASU.Ummm.... unless I'm missing something, the teams getting a bye also are getting a home playoff game.
Not to mention, if we are anywhere 5-8, we'd also be the home team.
Clemson would jump us. Obviously I don’t know that as an absolute but I’m willing to call my shot and say them beating a “higher ranked” team + brand they would jump us.Big 12 champ could potentially be 11 seed if Clemson beats SMU. Not likely but still possible.

Or 10 seed. I think the Big 12 Champion will be higher than the lower at-large teams. For the most part, the CCG does get a bump of some sort. I don't see 12, 11 is likely, and 10 is a definite maybe depending on how the lower at-large teams are.Big 12 champ could potentially be 11 seed if Clemson beats SMU. Not likely but still possible.
Fair on 1-4. I think there's a shot if at 8 since I think just a win puts us around 10You are missing something. Only first round is played on campus and there zero shot we move up to 5-8 by beating ASU.
Who all do you think should be ranked above them?So is Georgia at 5
I’ll say it again. If your signature game is a loss, you shouldn’t get a bye.Boise, the annual “inflate my ranking because of a ****** conference” team.
Honestly let’s say we win and get the 12 seed and Penn St is the 5th seed.Fair on 1-4. I think there's a shot if at 8 since I think just a win puts us around 10
Boise loses (which helps multiple ways)
Say SMU wins (So they'd move up, probably to like 6-7)
And if we manage to win say..... 38 to 7 . A dominant title win ( again, highly unlikely)
Georgia loses to Texas giving them a 3rd loss ... could that move them from 5 to 9? So that would be 6, 7, all move up, Indiana on a bye week maybe moves down... plus Boise State and AZ State losing...
Would a lot have to happen? Yes.
Is it likely? No. Although I will say.... while I don't anticipate a 38-7 win, Boise & Georgia both losing coupled with SMU winning is not exactly out of the realm of possibility.
We shouldn’t…at all but the committee has basically mirrored the AP every week. Hoping that changes this week.Do the AP or Coaches poll have any relevance at all at this point? Are they used by the committee? I'm struggling to understand why I should care about the AP ranking.
