Yep, he is listed at 6-1 so I assume he is 5-11 or 6 even. If he was a legit 6-2 or 6-3 he would have a lot more offers. Sometimes I think coaches get a little to caught up in measurements. Either a kid can play or they can't.
The only measurement that counts is heart.

I'll say this was a great pickup. Pavlenko was one of our first offers at LB (atleast publicised offers). The more our staff gets their top offers the better.

Great motor and great nose for the ball, good stuff. I hope he turns out to be similar to Knott!

I like the look of this kid. Will have to add weight, but what recruits don't? Not too concerned with his height, he has a great motor, great speed, hits hard, no fear, and just looks like a football player. Plus, he's smart. Can't have too many like that IMO.

I hope he keeps his commitment. We are his best offer by far right now, but that might change. Just hope he remembers what BCS coach first believed he could play.

How come after every commit you say things like "I hope he doesn't decommit when he gets better offers". You need to change your losing attitude. Have some confidence.

I was VERY positive about this kid and his abilities. I was also positive about Rhoads landing this kid too. Good job out of everyone on both sides.

ISU has done everything they need to do. Now it's just the kid's responsibility to honor that commitment. I'm sure he will, but it's not like we haven't been burned too many times before. That's all.

Also, when I saw we had a new commit, I figured it was going to be the JUCO WR that is visiting this weekend. Anyone know how that's going?

He's taller than Jesse Smith (at least, in print). I agree with you, a kid can play or he can't. Height? No biggie ;-) Height ranks after heart, toughness, quicks, strength, intangibles (like, leadership). This kid looks like he's got "it."

This prospect is the prototypical recruit for ISU at this time. He has very good technique for a Junior. He is at the right spot at the right time. He might not wow you with his athleticism but he makes up for it with his hard nose grind it attitude.

Glad he chose ISU.

I trust Coach Rhoads ability to recruit LBs, and obviously this kid looks like he is hard working and has a great motor. Like the class we have coming together and can't wait to see more commits in the future.

Pretty good speed, good takedowns, nose for the ball. Didn't look like he hits that hard, but give him some time with Yancy and we'll see!

Looks like a very nice pick up. Kid just makes plays and that's pretty hard to teach.

Can wait to see the staff bulk him up a little bit as well as get his pad level down and head on front of the ball carrier when tackling (things that are very coachable).

I decided to look back at the last 10 or so classes and how they were ranked. Even with Mac. we had a ton of 2 star recruits, some 3 stars and a few 4 stars here and there. We already have about as many 3 stars recruits as most of mac's classes had. To be honest, I really got sick of hearing about Mac's diamonds in the rough cuz nobody saw them. And I know stars don't mean squat, but it is kind of something to go by. Anyway, I like how this class is shaping up, now we need some studs.

What do you see in the film that makes you say he's not super athletic? (Honest question.) He looks pretty fast to me. The only thing I see is that he could hit harder if he had some more weight/strength and a red shirt year would take care of that.

Since Rhoads and Burnham ISU has put a premium on tackling on the defensive side of the ball. This guy looks to be another great tackler. Kudos, welcome to Cyclone Nation Adam! I wonder if he got to check out the 2009 bowl win in his state over Minnesota...

He is a 2-time AZ state champ wrestler, great noe for the ball & motor, very little YAC on his tackles. I like this commit.
