I think some of you are missing the point of this thread. Last week was tough...tougher on the players than on us fans (although some people probably don't see it that way). But there's no point in dwelling on the past as it can't be changed now. All we can hope is that we have a couple buckets fall our way, and that the team plays smart and hard. The cards will fall where they're going to fall.

Try to keep it positive...as the saying goes, its darkest before the dawn.

Go Cyclones!!

Yeah, I don't subscribe to the blanket statement that losses bother players more than fans. It all depends on the specific player and the specific fan. C Willy addressed that in one of his podcasts. (Think he used the Braves as his example if i remember correctly). And I tend to agree.

We all didn't get a full ride where a university paid thousands of dollars. Not judging him. But if we were talking about "caring" wouldn't you be in the gym working? Just a thought.

Did you forget about this?

He cares more about this team than any damn person on this board. To think otherwise is stupid.

I'm going to laugh at everyone after this team gets to the final four. This is exactly the type of team that will make a deep deep run. Great talent, great coaching, high expectations but faltering from those. At the end of the day I'll be Uconn fans where saying the same things come March. I have this feeling that when the tourney rolls around is when this team will finally get it and will be flying.

Today...a new day, a new week, and March. Last week is behind us, OU and TCU in front of us. Time for some March Madness. Hope all players are healthy (looking at you MM--played thru it yesterday and made us proud), big revenge game tomorrow, and then...this time next week you can forget about records and play each game for just that.

good luck and I'll be keeping my kids awake as I yell at my TV tomorrow night. Go Cyclones!!!!!!!!!!
Your attitude is what this fan base needs. More positive and less negative. It doesn't help by bemoaning this team after every loss. KIDS do make mistakes but know how to bounce back. We'll be just fine in a few weeks.

A couple of victories this week will make me feel better.

Would love to win the Big 12 Tourney to get some momentum going. That said, it seems like just when this team gets momentum going, it stumbles......

That's kinda what I figured. I thought most of it was an act myself.

However, with that "and 1", he could have won the game for us, but his buddy Niang threw it away for us.... literally.

I hope they had fun partying last night after that horrible loss. Sounds like it must have really stung and bothered them.
Really? **** off.

Agreed.

Some on here are acting like it's no big deal that we're losing some of these games, because all that matters is the NCAA Tourney. However, these losses are killing us because like you say... we're going to get a much worse seed now, which is going to make advancing in the tourney that much harder.

No losses are meaningless by any means. They all have ramifications. And that is what is so disappointing with this team is that they play the last 5 minutes of games like a loss doesn't really matter. Frustrating.

I must be missing something. Who is even indicating that these losses arent a big deal? Most are just asking for some loyal support for a bunch of guys that have worked hard and made alot of this season and those in the past very memorable. Moving on and not dwelling on the losses is the key. Especially for the team. Thats what I feel people are commenting about. Of course the losses are going to cost us seeding, but to crucify the team like "we only love you if you win, son" is ridiculous. Or how about this one ..... "Man, you screwed up our high seed now. This season is a failure" Invested fan bases that fill up Hilton are great, but somewhere as fans I believe some "cross the line". Do you really think these losses don't matter to the team? Are you kidding me? They're hurting more than anyone, them and their coaches. Of course they have to move on and still believe they can do damage in the post-season, regardless the seed.

I'm not saying I expect every college basketball player to not have a life and enjoy their college experience. But that's what typical college basketball players do. If you truly want to be a "special" player though, that goes on to the NBA to do great things, then you take these losses hard and are immediately watching film that night and working on your game in the gym.

But if you want to be like 95% of college players, then fine, go party. If you want to be among the elite players that make the NBA, then you need to be constantly working on your skill and trying to improve. It's all about what you want to be.

There's been many a night, some after games even, that guys have been in the gym. Also, have you forgotten about the late night film session that the players organized on their own to get things going in a better direction after a tough loss earlier in the season? How do you know what the circumstances were? On some occasions, just maybe beating yourself up by going to the gym isn't much for therapy, either.
