It's a great time to be a basketball fan.

It's a great time to be a Cyclone. After Giorgos, the SEZ drawings, then an hour of 24 last night followed by an hour of The Blacklist my old ticker was ready for a rest. But now I believe I am ready for whatever the FB season brings - I passed the stress test.

Signing an LOI is no guarantee he'd come. But he will make it here. Who would choose playing for the Greek National Team over playing for Fred if given the chance?

Another young Greek came over and had a "promising" freshman year at Texas. Then went back home for a few weeks over the summer and promptly signed a pro contract. Barnes didn't know about it until the press told him - boy was his face Cardinal.

Which should help answer the question of, "Will he redshirt?"

One guy in the tailgate tour thread said that Fred was talking to some fans at the tailgate tour and said that Giorgos is definitely an NBA prospect.

I believe Fred, but pretty much anybody that is 7'1" and not named Woodbury or Skoglund is an NBA prospect.

I have no idea who this guy is, and no idea if he's credible. But I found this while looking for information about Tsalmpouris:

Kostas Psimoulis ‏@Gus_bball

Despite reports, Greek Giorgos Tsalmpouris hasn't committed w/ any D1 school. He'll decide after Greek exams. Will also take visits.

Hines and everyone else basically said this is European basketball politics. He's committed.

Anyone has a clue what the "Greek exams" are? Do you have to pass the test to retain your citizenship?
