I think chitowncy's whole point is that the comments gain us nothing. They might not effect tsalmpouris at all. If they do then they only have the potential to damage the kid and the team we all cheer for. All for the sake of a couple of laughs.

Exactly. I don't mind the humor, but why direct it at a Cyclone as you don't know how your "humorous" comments will be perceived by the target of your joke. I'd hope posters' guiding principle would be to think about how their comments could (not saying it is a certainty) effect a Cyclone and what he thinks first, rather than getting a few cheap laughs as Revolution said.

Basically, just err on the side of caution when talking about Cyclones:)

Wasn't there a 7 footer in the NBA who had small hands and it really held him back? Shawn Bradley maybe? I don't remember, I guess my point is that having big hands as a 7 footer isn't a given....so this is a good thing.

Bradley's biggest issue wasn't that he had small hands, but rather that his sneakers weighed more than he did...

Fun fact: I saw Giorgos and Custer walking on campus today and Custer randomly jumped into him and yelled "and 1!" and then they both started laughing hysterically. Also, Clayton looked at 5 feet tall next to Giorgos.

I have no idea why but this made me extremely happy.

I urge you guys to stop with this kind of stuff. The things many people in this thread are saying could be construed as ridiculing / mocking this new Cyclone. Why make fun of his arms, or claim that he still brings lunchables to school? He is a Cyclone and doesn't deserve this mockery.

I recognize many of you don't believe it is mockery, and probably think your sarcasm / humor is all in good fun. But, just imagine how an 18 (I guess I assume Giorgos is 18) years old kid from Greece perceives these comments? He might be reading them and can't see the sarcasm; so why take the risk. Would you say these things to his face?

I would ask you stop making fun of his immutable characteristics like this just in case he reads these boards. I imagine (actually, I'm pretty certain) many of you have never been public figures. You don't know how damaging your anonymous message board comments can be. Therefore, act on the side of caution and don't make them. I hope you all will take my comments in stride as I do enjoy reading the entertaining / informative posts that many of you make.

Rant over.

So I can't call him a doodiehead or a poopypants either then right?:jimlad:

About seven years ago, I was in a car with this guy who said he was a big nba fan. He started naming all these guys who had been retired for years and asking what team they were playing for now. After asking about sean Bradley, I politely asked, "when was the last time you watched basketball? At the theatre watching space jam starring Michael jordan alongside bugs bunney?"

Anywho, the answer was yes.

Remember him as being slow and methodical. F150 with a four banger.

Bradley was actually pretty athletic for someone 8' tall.

Game just didn't come easy for him though.
