So I am going to just stoop down to the level of all the posters on here acting like this kid is being totally trashed and people are saying he sucks and Hoiberg is an idiot, and give up.

This kid is literally Michael Jordan. Will he start over Niang and McKay the whole year? Probably. To say otherwise means you are trashing him.

Also, to all the posters in this thread saying that Georges Niang is terrible, I think you are crazy. That's stupid and I am smarter than you for knowing that. And I'm not going to quote any of you mostly because I am making it up which seems to be the thing to do.

Apparently he has committed to nothing more than a visit in June. And will likely take other visits as well. Let's get our collective feet back on the ground and cross our fingers that Fred gets what Fred wants.

The only reason he's not a pre-season all-American is, well obviously, he's not an American. But once he's granted citizenship all that will change unless he rightfully declares for the draft. (insert pirate guy here somewhere).

I'll go out on a limb and say Spartacus will have the same impact as most other first year players in CFH's system. But given time, food and weights will be fun to watch blossom. And I can't tell you the last time I said "blossom" let alone typed "blossom".

It's hard to say what the real story is but Hines, Williams, Trey Scott and Randy Peterson are all saying he's committed so the coaches at least feel like he's firmly committed, IMO.

But I agree, you have to be a little cautious with a foreign national that comes out of left field. There is probably still a couple of big hurdles standing between a commitment and actually playing a game in Hilton.

Woodbury gets a lot of crap on this board and rightly so much of the time, but I would take him in a second. It's worth a scholarship to have a 7-footer in case you need one. Plus this kid has a higher ceiling from what I can tell

And that's why you're not on a coaching staff

Not to mention Fraschilla and Borzello both said he committed as well. Way too much smoke with this story. Of course, anything could happen but I'd be surprised if he's not playing here next year.

George I think is shorter than 5'11" unless I'm taller than I think.

So, if he really is committed, will he be playing the the PTL this summer? Could be interesting to see.

BTW, Fred doesn't make a lot of mistakes, so I am going with the kid can play until proven otherwise.

I think CW said he was playing with the Greek national team over the summer.

You know Fred offered right?

Woodbury would probably be a lot better if he wasn't a tavern hawk and committed to a coach that doesn't have anger issues.

Very interesting recruit. I hope he plays similar if not better than Jeff Withey. It could be a game changer for the program if he is a dominant force down low. Looks like he has the potential to be a good cut and shoot/pick and roll guy also a good rebounder.

Think about how much depth we have for next season.

Dingleberry is shrek who will never improve. White is a ginger who's talent has run out. Iowa will suck next year especially with no Marble.

Also go over to hoknation and it seems like every thread is about potential Iowa recruits going elsewhere . Probably saw how immature mad Fran was when he got suspended by NCAA. .
