NOTHING online re: this, not even on UConn sites, so not worried. Info could be prior to the commitment as the article is a few days old.

Not that I think it matters (the lack of info on UConn sites is a big point) but the article came out today. The date on the post is 14/05/2014 and I think Europeans write it as Day/Month/Year.

Are you sure it's not from the 14th month?

Here nor there
Probably for the same reason that NBA scouts are looking at him, and that Fred wanted him. That being said, I'm sure UCONN, Hoiberg, and the NBA scouts are wrong, and I will defer to the Cyclone Fanatic expert recruiting analysts that say he's Ellerman Jr.
You and your melodrama again.

You are making that more exclusive than it is. NBA scouts look at a lot of guys, including 17 year-old 7 footers that are not ready to be major factors in Year 1 .Recall that DeAndre Jordan could have been a 1st round draft pick out of high school, yet only played 20 mediocre minutes a game at A$M. Fred said "maybe" to whether he would need to redshirt, according to the Tailgate Tour thread.

So what's your point? Look I probably agree with you about 90% of the time, but it's looking more and more that the assumptions that a lot of people made earlier in this thread are false. And it was mainly, IMO, based on the fact that the guy wasn't in the ESPN top 100 or had any stars. If he had dingleberry's highschool rankings Top 50 and 4 stars we would have been all over this guy. That's all I'm saying...drama free zone right here.

Except Theo Davis wasn't 7' tall, but don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

The real question that needs answered is does the NBA need Giorgos Tsalmpouris?

Did you read in the Omaha article about who Hoiberg said he would take first in the NBA Draft? Joel Imbiid!

Fred is focused on the big men right now. Clearly he wants GT to be the next one . . . and wants him to be ours.

For those of you who say he is too small - he looks like he has a big frame and his legs look thick. The new updated info says he is at 230. He is only 17... from the time I was 17 until I was 20 I increased my weight by about 30% and that was not fat.

You are just tee'ing this one up...so I'll get it started.

Let's say you weighed a modest 150 at 17. That means by the time you were 20 you weighed 195. Freshman 45? Someone is setting the bar high.

I was 125 pounds going into college and came out at 190. Most of that was fat, but yeah, people gain weight. Now I'm back down to 175 trying to tone up. Sorry, off topic!

Thanks for those again by the way. BentStick did have an ex D1 player with him when I met him btw.

Who knows what is going on in a Euro players head? Maybe he wants a year away from his home country and that's it.

I can confirm. D1 player sitting at the table with him when I picked up tickets. Thanks again!!
