Even if he could score, there is no way you pass on the multidimensional game of Kane. I'm not sure how you think otherwise. He didn't say SDW was better he said he could score. You may be right and he isn't ready, but the recruitment of Kane and BDJ isn't proof of it.

True....Matt THomas and Monte Morris playing as TRUE freshman was plenty of proof of it.

I think Tsalmpouris' minutes in the non-conference schedule will depend upon McKay's waiver. If McKay's waiver is denied, Tsalmpouris has a chance to see higher minutes than if McKay's waiver is approved.

I know exactly what averaging 10 minutes per game means, and its not that much. He may not meet that, and if he doesn't then fine. I'm not one to call someone a bust if they don't meet my expectations. The pump the brakes crowd should just chill out. Its not outrageous or unrealistic to think he could play 10 minutes a game..

It's probably unrealistic.

Yeah, if Agnew is a 1 and Homan is a 10, where is Tsalmopouris on the project scale?

That's kinda what I was getting at. Thanks. And having guarded expectations doesn't mean we don't think the kid can develop into something valuable or special in the future.

Last year Ejim, Kane and the other departing players averaged 68 minutes per game combined. Pencil in 25 mpg for Nader, BDJ and McKay and you are already above that. Minutes will be at a premium next year, including for some of the returning players.

I look at GT as anything positive is gravy. He could turn into an all-conf player or he could be a 7 ft distraction. It is a great 12th or 13th scholarship to use. I see it as a low risk, high reward situation.

Well said. However, I think there is good reason to think that GT is more than a long shot. It was NBA scouts that put us on to him.

And remember that the pre-season magazines last year were very reserved in their expectations for Embiid.

Proportionally that guy seems taller than 9" taller than Fred. I threw this pic on a grid back drop and while I know pics can be misleading it shouldn't be too far off because they are right next to each other. Basically if Fred is a legit 6'4 this guy is a legit 7'2 as he is about 10.2 inches taller than Fred, not as much as it seemed but indicating he is indeed big and the listed height if anything is on the low side.
and Matt A. is under 5'4 in case anyone cares.

I've seen a few toss out this 10 minutes a game projection, and I think that's pretty damn high. If he sees 10 a game, with the roster & front court this year, then my guess is he's better than were expecting.

Not saying he can't be, but Percy & Edozie last year and Booker his senior year didn't avg. 10 a game. Even Matt at the end of last year was down to 10 or less.

In nonconference games, I expect at least ten minutes a game. Edozie needs to show he can score more.

Trying to defend niang in practice the next two years could really help Tsalbo. Like in inverse situation of the much hyped nerlens Noel practices.
