It sucks to lose access to stage door. Honestly, fans will gather anywhere as long as there is a bar and a bit of warmth. @Cycsk drew a decent crowd at his donation tailgate for some bball games. It would be cool to expand upon that with some propane heaters and high tops. Not sure how the university would feel about it but there is definitely an opportunity there.

It had to only be advertised to certain levels- I’m a Gold Donor and never heard of it until yesterday.
I’m a gold level donor. Are you a basketball season ticket holder as well? (It was not held last year due to Scheman renovation). If so, you were supposed to be notified by email.

For Women’s BB we are, not men’s. It’s also entirely possible that I missed that email. I did get the one referenced up thread about the changes.

We got lucky in February 2024 with some really nice Saturdays with both men and women playing at home. It was fun to tailgate in February in between games.

Unfortunately, the weather and my schedule didn’t work out for winter 2025.

One of the first things I do when I get both men’s and women’s schedules is to see which ones overlap at home. Hopefully, we will have some tailgates again this winter.

Yeah, the last couple of years (before last year), I had to call the Cyclone Club Office to see if it was open and have them email menus. Prior to that I would get them by email. Maybe they knew the long term plan and wanted to wean lower level donors away from an expectation that it would be there. I did get the the notification this year that it was retired. Will permanently miss The Cyclone camaraderie of my usual table and some surrounding tables. My wife (Cyclone by marriage) really enjoyed some of the old campus trivia and shenanigans we would talk about over a couple of beers and a plate of lasagna. In fact; she was the one who had me call those couple of years we didn't get any info!

PS: Wife got her Doctorate at Oklahoma, but is now a ardent Cyclone, but she is extremely disappointed by the retirement.

Is the statue staying in Hilton? I would assume so. Hopefully they move it or redesign back to where everybody can access it.

I predict that they will reconsider opening at halftime. People seem to have raced to it at halftime in previous seasons. They’re gonna be a lot of complaints.

Hilton has a strict no leave/return policy I believe. That would need to obviously change if they allowed Johnny’s to be open at halftime
