I guess I'm the only person who loves the current uni's.

I like the current uniforms too.

What I don't like is frequent uniform changes. It is reminiscent of bad football teams trying to find an identity. Anyone remember the Jim Criner Era uniforms? Yellow helmets with the "toilet flush"...a red one if you played well. Why didn't anyone ever get white helmet?

Anyway, if I remember correctly, the uniforms debut was the ISU-IU game which was televised nationally and Curt Gowdy was one of the guys calling the game. Iowa started winning big and Gowdy comented on the new ISU uniforms. I'm glad I was not watching the game on TV. Mike Tirico from ESPN says, "If the game is bad, you, as the commentator, have to be better." Gowdy must have been desperate.

I like the idea of throwback uniforms for the Iowa game, but I hope we can settle on the current uniforms with minor changes occasionally.

I PERSONALLY LIKED THE BRIGHT GOLD HELMETS, RED OR WHITE JERSEYS, AND BRIGHT GOLD PANTS OF THE 60-70'S, THINK IT WAS JOHNNY MAJORS ERA OR WAS IT CLAY STAPLETON BUT YOU KNEW IOWA STATES COLORS WERE CARDINAL RED AND GOLD CAUSE THE COLORS SHOWED OFF SO WELL

RED ON RED IS A TERRIBLE COLOR COMBO

WHY ARE YOU YELLING!? Anyways, as long as we don't have the dog-bones around the collar again, I'll be fine with them. Those "I"s just looked, well, rediculous.

Does anybody think Nike is just changing our jerseys to their factory stamped style they have given Miami, Oklahoma State, etc..? They did it to us this year in basketball. By doing this I don't think ISU has to pay for the jerseys they use so it will be less expensive, but I really think the change you will see isn't the colors or logo, just the design on the jerseys. Fortunate for some, Nike doesn't do solid colored uniforms (no red on red) that I am aware of.

It is what Nike has been doing the last three years so you become familiar with their 'style' of jersey. The chest logo just wasn't good enough.

Is that really true? If so, it explains why our uni's our so cheap looking and the colors arn't our true school colors.

We need Nike for the clothing line for our fans. We have had the WORST looking clothes until Nike picked us up. Now we can actually wear some sweet duds to the game. I love our BBall unis.

Red on white and white on white

I'm a fan of the red on red/white on white and the current helment, though the blue can be a bit much. What about Cy outlined in Yellow?

I gotta admit, I just don't get into looking like a roll of Cherry Lifesavers, which is why I don't like the current look.

I liked the uni's from the 70's, and I liked Walden's uni's (even if I didn't like the product on the field). Simplicity is really the best when it comes to football uniforms.

I actually liked the I's ringed around the sleeves and neck during the Wallace years. I thought it was a cool and unique detail. Too bad it was Russell that did that and not Nike

that would take some gettin used to.. but i kinda like it

It's a bit differnt but I do know that I like the current logo, even if it is heavy on the blue. For those talking about a competive look I have to say there's not a whole lot out there more intimidating than a pissed of bird riding a cyclone around...

I hope we don't follow other Nike templates and go with the wrap around Miami style or the Va Tech different sleeve color style. Both are becoming popular with Nike sponsored schools.

I am ready for a change to retro ISU for at least a game. The Old Schoold Cy is as good as it gets as a logo and the old (true) colors would look sweet on a football uniform. Bring the GOLD BACK!!!

Please Lord, Do NOT put beat Iowa on our uniforms. I hate them, but it makes us look pitiful.

Gold Helmet with no logo just like Notre Dame, with gold pants (not yellow) with cardinal jerseys like the one below.
