Hawk talk. I see we are still talking about beastiality. Maybe that is what the poster was talking about- the 6 out of 10 stat applies to hawks.

The OP really isn't that far off this staff has yet to recruit quality defensive lineman.

The OP is a moron.

How about we give this staff more than 2 full recruiting cycles before we decide if they can recruit?

To the OP's point, if we can't upgrade our DL, it will likely be CPR's undoing. The fact is we have to get better upfront, and especially at DL. Getting better than .500 consistently is tough to do with low level talent at DL.

Before everyone starts making their own determinations of a recruiting coordinator or what our recruiters are doing wrong maybe you should evaluate another school who's had a lot of success....

Iowa has repeatedly put out very good NFL defensive lineman during the kirk ferentz regime.....how do they do it....

lets look at it....

This years def line consisted of the following:
ballard - TE 2007
Binns - LB 2007

Clayborn - DE 2006
L. Daniels - LB 2007

M. Daniels - DE 2007
Nardo - Walk On

Klug - LB 2006
Bigach - LB 2008

So, for a defense which all ISu fans would love to have, they had a grand total of 2 Defensive Lineman recruits.....the success Iowa has had is building Defensive lineman which are hard to recruit anywhere from other positions.....

Dont be surprised if isu begins to emulate this recruiting practice....

Iowa's Defensive Lineman recruits by Year:
2006 - 1
2007 - 3
2008 - 3
2009 - 2
2010 - 5
2011 - 2

ISU Defensive Lineman recruits:
2006 - 6
2007 - 5
2008 - 4
2009 - 2
2010 - 3
2011 - 2

Since Rhoads has taken over, they've recruited in 5 players along the DL and Iowas recruited in 7....its not important if a player is listed as a DL or not...the importance is if they're recruiting a player to move positions. For instance, that could be why Boyd has changed his committment...they could have been telling him he had the frame and speed to make a very good DE at this level and Baylor is giving him a chance to stay at his preferred position LB....who knows who cares....

Rhoads was hired end of 2009 his first class is that of 2010....for us to evaluate this staffs abilities you would have to wait until 2013....

I have faith......Rhoads dream is building ISU into a power.... i doubt he's not turning over every stone he can to get the players he needs to do so....

You get out of here with your facts and logic! Don't you know that us fans know more than the coaches what's best for ISU football? And you call yourself a CycloneFanatic! You sicken me!

Sarcasm pirate not needed......... I hope.

Well put. Just hope our LBers can turn into decent DE's. Look at Lattimer, I think he is a perfect example of what our goal is.

I could see the problem if we had four senior staring DL next year with nothing at all whatsoever behind them. Obviously we need depth, but I think some pieces are there and its not over yet... Hell maybe we do pretty well next year and theres some HS kids right now falling in love with ISU and we get land a few big DL recruits when the pressure is really on for the DL to step up.
