Kansas isn't afraid. Why would they need to schedule WSU? It does them no good. Scheduling a home and home with SDSU makes sense because it's in a large market with a decent recruiting base. Scheduling WSU does nothing for Kansas and WSU wanted a home and home and neutral. WSU is asking for way too much there. Why not a 2 for 1?

That was my point. It's not different than us and UNI.

I'm okay with ISU's schedule. Sure it's soft but it's not Baylor football non-conference schedule soft. There are some decent tests in there. Win the games you're given and no one will bat an eye.
Yeah, the guy said that it wasn't soft, just not to the level of KU and Texas' nasty non-con schedules.

Besides with a new transfer coming in cold, a couple others having sat out a year and having lost your two strongest (senior) leaders it isn't a bad thing to have some easier games to get the team gelling. They won't always come together as smoothly as they did last year.

Remember how before the season last year everyone said they would take time to gel? They're going to be just as good right out of the gate as they were last season.

Do you really believe losing to undefeated regular season and #1 tourney seed Wichita St. and losing to UNI is comparable? If UNI goes undefeated this year we better be scheduling them next year.

Or they could need time to gel like previous teams. You don't know.

Disagree. How UNI does next year is irrelevant to us scheduling them.

This. I wish people wouldn't meltdown if the team doesn't start very well. This last season was the only exception in the Hoiberg era but every other year had very slow starts. I remember back during Royce's year the team looked awful at the beginning and lost to Drake. Look how that season and every season since ended up.

Unless the easier games don't appear challenging enough for the guys to focus. I think last year's big Michigan game may have helped to force that focus.

They sort of call out ISU for the soft schedule. ISU can't help it when power schools don't want to schedule home and homes with ISU if it means having to play in Hilton. It's great to have a feared home court advantage but annoying that teams don't want to play in Hilton.
Just stop with the "no one will schedule us" business. If that's what the AD is trying to sell then that's on him. Other tough-to-beat ranked teams get tough games.

Does anyone know how much time that Thomas and Nader will miss? Hopefully only a couple games. They will be very thin without them. By the end of the year they should have a top ten team.
