I dunked on Mark Baugh at State Gym beotch.

How ironic...Mark Baugh dunked on my team 9 of 11 in a pick up game one day in State gym.

I did not return the favor. : )

I will say in my defense the rest of my team was weak...and the guy guarding Baugh wasn't me. : )

Im gonna control my enthusiasm, solely based on how well almost every other last minute recruit that we have brought in has turned out.

We've been going after him pretty consistently since December...he's not really last minute, except his commitment.

not a whole lot, as he sat nearly the entire year with injury. freshman year he averaged 8.5 pts, 8.3 reb according to the register. an interview with him said that he averaged 15 pts, 11 reb this season, but only played 9 games

I heard someone say it is hard to judge JUCO's by numbers alone. I guess coaches try to play a lot of players each game and try to play fairly even mins for all. Does IH still run a free for all system, if so those numbers are decent I would guess. IH is also usually good so their best players may not see a ton of mopup mins. Someone said Gillstraps 24 and 6? will be like 15 and 4.

he is a good friend, more like a brother. But LaRon can has played all over the nation, as well as for the USA team. I watched him punish T. Booker from clemson in high school when he was 2 inches shorter and 25 lbs lighter. Scored 30 in upperstate and 25 in state as a sophomore at Greer. He can score, and is very versatile and will be a nice asset to the Cyclones

Sounds encouraging. Thanks for the input on his game. I am going to temper my excitement though. He is stepping way up in everything by playing at the Big 12 level, it may take him awhile to adjust to the speed of the game, the coaching, conditioning, intensity, ect... If he can adjust quick and somehow become an impact player, then next year could be a good one. Gilstrap, Colvin, Dendy, and Christopherson. All look good and seem to have better basketball skills and athleticism than the players they are replacing. That can only mean we will be a lot better next year.

yea, the intensity will def. be at a much higher level. Hopefully Laron will adjust quickly. He is a team player which is always helpful in a transition like this.
