I’m sure he’s dying to give up millions.

Exactly. Even if next year sucks, if he believes (right or wrong) he can turn it around in the upcoming years, he may very well think 'i'll stay, or they can pay me every penny', and ISU, short on funds, may opt to let the pain continue.

I can just foresee as not making the tournament but the freshmen showing some promise and having some late success and we keep him around. I just don't get the sense JP likes to admit he was wrong.
I don't think it's that necessarily, we just aren't a big revenue school to pay millions out to axe someone.

We'd better have a hell of a football season next year in order for me to forget about the basketball season.. I would personally sign up for a 10-2 football season if it meant our basketball team sucked again though.

If we are bad next year he's gone
The only way I could see Steve staying if we don't make the tournament next year would be if we play very well to end the year, rattle off like 5 wins in a row or something, and end up on the wrong side of the bubble with like 18 wins. If we end up on the wrong side of the bubble because we faded, Steve's gone. If we never even reach the bubble, Steve's gone.

It's both, but agree the primary driver for CSP possibly getting two more years is the poison pill of the buyout. I'm not convinced that JP believes the money is there.

I’ll take anybody who has played that many P5 minutes. Decent advanced numbers. Not gonna be an offensive engine or anything.

We need another Creighton situation TBH. Somewhere like St Louis (because I expect Ford to get a better job soon).

If we end up with this dude and Turner, I think that's pretty good. Obviously Aiken was the golden guy, but he was the #1 sought after guy. I will not be mad with DeJulius and Turner whatsoever.

Problem is Turner is most likely going to Missouri and Dejulius most likely has to sit out a year. The odds of one of these guys being on court for ISU next year let alone both of them probably isn’t realistic. It’s starting to get to the point where we’ve missed on every target so far that I’ll bet the the guys we do land we haven’t heard us being connected to them yet.

I just don’t think JP will pull the trigger unless he is forced to. I think that anything that can be pointed to as an excuse will be used to keep Prohm even with another down year. Kids going pro early, Covid related issues etc.

Probably a moot point, but Turner is, and has been, more desirable. He's rated #1 on many grad transfer lists.

Believe it or not, this is typical human behavior that is by demonstrated by 99+% of people.

Nope, refuse to go back on my prior post and I will not acknowledge that any portion of it was wrong.
