New Uniforms

My thoughts - ordinarily I think gold football jerseys are ugly. But, for whatever reason, I'm really drawn to the idea of gold ISU football jerseys. And from the glimpse that you see of them in the Nike room video, they actually are viable with our shade of cardinal.

Ugly can be beautiful - especially if it causes recruits to take notice and attracts them to ISU...

If you try to get away from looking like USC, you begin to look like LSU (just switch cardinal and purple). It we be even more noticeable with the white road uniforms. Actually I see by your file name thats what you were going for.

I'll say this, the best way to stop "looking" like USC (besides the 2 stripes on shoulders, and IOWA STATE on the chest) is to wear our road jerseys at home, like the Cowboys.

They're freakin' sweet.

As dmb stated previously, once you start doing that you're now no longer "ripping off USC" and are now ripping off LSU.

My opinion? I like our home unis the way they are, and who gives a flying **** if uninformed people across the nation think they're ripping off USC. We here at ISU know better - they're a reference to our historical uniforms.

Look at the items on the table. At first you think those are our gold pants, but once you look closer you realize that those are jerseys with numbers on the sleeves, very much in the fashion of our home jerseys, just with the colors reversed.

And yes, I just noticed - the Iowa helmet IS turned upside down... :laugh:

Actually I didn't notice that the other ones were right side up... makes the Hawk one being upside even funnier though!

Boy, I hope that smiley meant you were kidding. Those unis could be the ugliest unis ever not associated with Syracuse or Wyoming.

On EA NCAA 2011 I often use Red Jersey with Red Pants for home games. I also use black socks and black cleats with red accents.

It looks awesome on the game and I would think it would look pretty good in real life.


The big issue with the old red on red, was that the reds were too bright and the overall uniform style was not nearly as good as the current.

If they wear yellow jerseys, and next week, people go buy a bunch of yellow jerseys to replace their red ones, then it was a good idea for the University.

no way is that crazy... awesome... i dont care if they are the ugliest things ever, its sweet. oregon has some ugly ones, and i love them all. way to make some changes and stay with the times. keep on keepn on mr rhoads.

Our university doesn't like selling jerseys for some reason, other teams you see home and aways and even sometime alternates with all kinds of #'s on them. at ISU, you see the old red #7's (or every so often the throwback game #7) or the new home ones with #4. I've searched like crazy to get the away jerseys, especially with customized #'s, but only in child. no adult. it's crazy.

If anyobody wants to truly get away from the USC look, use actual gold (not ND gold) but now would be the time to do so as BC no longer wears gold pants (not that it should matter)

I thought I read on here recently that they would be selling the white roadies in adult sizes next year. Can't recall where I saw that, though.

It's kinda sad... looking at the book store website, I see Cardinal and White jerseys for women, but none for men. How ****ed up is that?

Maybe the team was planning a little Tennessee trick from a few years ago. Warm up wearing the normal home uniform, then after they go back to the locker room, come out wearing the all Golds. I know the Tennessee fans went nuts when that happened.

Sounds like plenty of smoke here and the Nebraska game makes perfect sense. TV and anti-red. If JP was e-mailed asking about yellow for the KU game specifically, he could truthfully say that was the 1st he'd heard of it. Expect a gold rules day a week from Saturday, likely including all yellow unis.
