New WR

How in the hell do any of us judge these kids? We haven't personally evaluataed them based on their athletic history, thier potential, their family, or any other traits that we can conjure up.

Screw you hypothetical fans. Imho, you all judge other humans based on ages old tropes. Jeez. . . .

If these young men choose to become Cyclones, because it suits their values, why aren't you willing to have their backs?

Give 'em a break. Jesus on a bicycle.

Who doesn't have his back? And what does that even mean for fans on s message board? I think some people are just urging others not to put expectations on a guy because of measurable, when he hasn't played football in at least 4 years...

The odds of him getting playing time is almost zero, right? It'd be nice if he had like 2-3 years to develop.
These are my thoughts as well. If we actually ever see him on the field in his one season of eligibility, it probably says worse things about our WR room than what many of us would want to believe. If he gets a few snaps on special teams, that's fine. Maybe a trick play/ end around snap or two to catch a team off guard or something like that. Don't think anyone should be expecting the next Trever Ryen.

I’m not saying I expect him to do anything, but there’s no downside to adding talent. David Irving came to Iowa State with very little football experience, and made the NFL even though he got in his own way at both levels. Antonio Gates was one of the best NFL TE’s ever, and didn’t even play college football.

the dude has some athleticism being able to jump over 7' at times, add a bit of speed to that and it's worth taking a flier on even for at best limited use in ST. or maybe he becomes a Butler for a season with just huck it plays. dude has ups to clear most CBs/S positions.

Never say never. We had a starting QB become an all conference middle linebacker. I'm expecting maybe some snaps on special teams maybe, but who knows.
