Here nor there
I still get the impression that this team's best days are ahead of them.

I think you could be right, and really hope it is so. The team is starting to mesh, and Bubu coming back should be a small benefit.

We need 4 more wins before the Big 12 tournament to lock it up imo. The schedule is getting tough, we could lose to anyone here on out if we take a night off.

I hate playing down in Waco. I think we have won once down there since the inception of the big12. Sloppy, weird games. Still better than Baylor's 0-for-Hilton, but not by much.

If we can steal one from Okie St. or Baylor in their house, and hold court at home in the middle, we won't be talking tournament anymore. We will be talking travel plans.

We need 3 wins to make the tourney. A 10-8 conference record gets us in.

I think we lead the nation in critical, crucial, or must win games.

Baylor is where the 99-00 team clinched the conference title. It can be done with talent and determination. This team has both. And coaching.

Not saying the W in W(aco) is gonna happen, just have a bit of confidence. I know, tough considering ISU's past.

If we can win at least 5 more games and be sitting at (worst) 22-9, I think we'll be in good shape for an at-large bid heading into the Big 12 tourney.

Really? 12-6 in conference, and only "good shape"?

Am I the only one who thinks that if we're 9-9 in conference, we're a bubble team, and if we get to 10-8 we're a sure thing? Teams with above-.500 records in power conferences never get left out.

I don't disagree that 11 or 12 conference wins is very possible, and it would be disappointing to "only" be 10-8, given where they are now. Just shocked at how high people think the bar is to get into the tourney.

Agree!

OU, TT, and Tammy at home should cover that.

The scary thing is, when I look at the other 5 games... we could win all of those. I think we match up well vs Baylor (our guards >> their guards). At OSU will be tough on short rest. At KSU will be really tough. At Mizzou is the only one I think is "out of reach", but they are a sprained ankle away from holding tryouts for a starting spot.

I think I am officially on kool aid alert this morning.

...

^^ Not true.

Our OOC is not good and going 10 - 8 means we would lose 5 of 8. That would not 'look' good. Drake continuing to lose is not helping. We need UNI to go on a streak.

We need to be 11-7 / 21-10 (or better) going into the Big XIIs to be in. Otherwise => bubble.

Counter argument though ... We're a good story, lots of interest. That's a positive. How can you deny the whole "mayor" story, and Royce, Babb, "second chance" stories?

We're gonna need booker to come to play if we want to have a chance against Baylor. Lots of length.
