I think we'll be very good next year, but my fear is that many of us (likely myself included) will raise our expectations to the point where anything less than a Sweet 16 would be a total disappointment.

If Fred can get us from having 3 players returning to the dance in 2 years I'll be calling for a lifetime contract.

Scotty will be starting next year because of his experience, we will have tons of talent next year but it doesnt translate into automatic wins, and last time i checked were 6 games into THIS season, just try and support THIS team not next years team just yet

Agree - or 7 even! This might go w/o saying, but I bet the following will see the most minutes:

Allen
Scotty
Ejim
White
Booker
Babb
McGee

Godfrey will be in the running for "6th" man- all depends on match-ups. As of right now, Bubu will also be in that group as our best returning pg.

Now that I think about it, I'd feel more secure about next year's team if I knew that the ballhandlers would be as good as Diante and Jake are right now. And since they are that good right now, I'll cheerfully back to what we have right now...

I know this seasons basketball team still has alot of potential left in them to make a big splash in the big12. But who cant stop thinking about the team we will have next year? I really think we can get to and succeed in the big dance. Next years team has a little something in it that our past teams lacked... DEPTH

Starters
1) Tyrus McGee
2)Chris Allen
3)Melvin Ejim
4)Royce White
5)Anthony Booker

Bench
-Boo Palo
-Tavon Sledge
-Scott Christopherson
-Chris Babb
-Demarcus Phillips
-Elgin Cook

Jordan Railey/Eric McKnight- I believe that one of these players will transfer next year. Whichever one does the other will most likely redshirt.
I also think that Anthony Odunsi will redshirt. But that is a slim possibility he has been scoring with ease of late.

With all of that to digest i think our weakness next year will be either lack of guard experience or height.

This team is going to be very exciting next year. I think the talent that F.H is bringing in is fantastic. I think that Melvin Ejim can go down as one of ISU best players ever. Look at him now and think how good he could be 3 years from now.

ISU will be dominate in big12 play. A predict at least sweat 16 in the big dance.

GO CLONES:cool::smile:

really?

who cares about next.

talk to me after this season and we cheer this year's team.

Here's my take...

1) Be excited about 2010/11
2) Be thankful we actually have something to look forward to in 2011/12.. its not that long ago that we had absolutely nothing to look forward to.

It's funny that all these posts don't want to talk about next year but they keep bumping the thread back to the top.

It is funny. I think the saying goes something like "if you dont care to talk about the subject then dont open it up."

honest question here. has anyone here seen us scrimmage this year? i'm wondering if allen and babb are going to be anywhere as good as dg and anderson are for us right now. obviously we will be better in the paint with booker and white(assuming he's still here-which i will until i here otherwise), but could it be possible we will be worse at guard? i know allen should/will be solid and don't expect much of a drop, but will babb be as good as jake? college bball is a guards game. i fear if we do good enough THIS year, that everyones expectations for next year will be so high that an epic meltdown will commence should we miss the big dance next year.

Babb has been described as a shooter, a defender but not a great athlete.
Allen is going to be teamed up with McGee or one of the incoming PG recruits.
Babb will most likely be competing with SC for minutes. To answer your question
I haven't seen them scrimmage but have a limited memory of them in the Big X.
