Not even remotely concerned.

Matt and Monte are freshmen, are already good, and will get better. Plus, Naz and SDW will get a lot better and will be great. Even without Vaughn or any other additions, we will compete for the conference title for sure.

This feels like very poor trolling. No one can seriously be worrying about this now.

I don't think anyone is worried about it right now but in the era of recruiting, I think people will always be looking ahead to next year to a certain extent.

If Hoiberg decided to begin starting Morris tomorrow I'd have zero complaints. Not a comment on anyone else, just think Morris is ready to start whenever that happens.

When is Fred gonna recruit some gingers? We need gingers if we are ever going to be great.

1. We will be fine next year. Even if Vaughn does not commit we still have Morris, Thomas, Naz, SDW, and Custer at guard.

2. As tempting as it is to look forward to next year, enjoy this year. I've been a Cyclone fan for 20+ years and seasons like this don't come along too often. I know that we all expect this to become the norm under Hoiberg, but nothing is guaranteed so just enjoy the ride

Remember how 95% of Cyclone fans (glad to say I wasn't one of them) were pooping their pants over the thought of losing Babb, Lucious, McGee, and Clyburn last year? So many Debbie Downer fans were on here saying "we're going back to rebuilding mode" and "what the heck is Fred thinking?" thought process, even after Kane committed. Glad to say that I knew this was going to be Fred's best year while so many others were doubting the team. This is the EXACT same attitude that you're having right now. Fred finds ways to win and improve. We may not have depth at guard, but if you don't believe in Morris, Thomas, Long, and Custer, you're a lousy fan. Morris has already shown he is going to be a big time guard and is improving dramatically as a freshman by the game. Thomas still looks lost and scared out there, but a full year under his belt should help him gain more confidence and let him settle into his game. Naz is going to get better as well. And for those of you that haven't seen the way Custer plays, he's a monster.

With Nader, Hogue, Niang, and McKay playing the forward, I fully expect them to pick up for the guards at times when they struggle offensively. Next year will be a great team. Also, expect a late signing or a transfer guard with experience if Vaughn doesn't commit to us. Not worried at all about what Hoiball will bring next year.

Seriously? I will seriously mail you a prize if you can show me a post of you predicting that this would be Hoiberg's best year. (Unless you were drunk on Kool-Aid when you posted it) I didn't hear anyone predicting that preseason.

It never ceases to amaze me how some fans, in particular ISU fans, cannot just enjoy the present season (in any year) without worrying about the future year(s). It's the almost mid-point of a so far undefeated season! Just enjoy this one! Worry about next year after the NCAA concludes. To me, logically, that is the time to discuss those issues, if there even are any issues.

Lighten up, quit being so damned nervous about the future, and enjoy this team.

This is the correct answer.

If we don't get Vaughn, Fred has a couple of scholarships to play with and if he thinks we need to add a top notch guard I'm sure he's already got a few in mind. I trust Fred.
