I wouldn't get too pumped...

3-2 Caps win.

Ovie, Semin and Laich score for the Caps.

Not sure who they are starting at goalie to night...I sure hope it is Varlamov though...

I think Theodore is actually going between the pipes tonight!!!

DEFINITELY excited!!! Isles fan here! I'm not expecting much this season but I am REALLY excited to see what John Tavares and De Haan can do for us!!! Unfortunately we gotta take on the Pens on Saturday!!!

I am excited to see what Tavares can do too...it looks like he has a chance to be the "next big thing" after Ovie and Crosby...

Man I hope so! But both guys had a pretty slow first season so I'm not getting my hopes up QUITE yet. But we have a stud of a rookie defensemen that I hope can help us out in a big way!

Red Wing fan here. I started watching hockey when I moved here in 1973. The Wings weren't that good for quite awhile but I loved the game and the character of the players. Now that the Wings are doing well it's icing on the cake even if the stars are from Sweden and my ancestry is Norweigian.

By the way, I am an Ovechkin and a Brooks Laich in on my Ovechkin, Laich, Semin scoring prediciton....

Ovie might score 70 goals this.

Have enjoyed a few Aeros games (think is the first minor league level). Would like to get to an NHL game to see the additional speed and skill.

However I still can't stand to watch it on tv.

Does anyone else care? I lived in D.C. for a while last year and got hooked on NHL hockey. I have been to MLB,NBA, and NFL games, and nothing comes close to the atmosphere at a NHL game.

Go Caps!

It is a bittersweet day in Colorado. It is opening night with the Avs, but it is also the night they retired the number of future hall of famer, Joe Sakic. #19 had the best wrist shot I've ever seen.

CAPS WIN!!! My man Laich is keeping up with the Big O! Great start to the season for the Caps and the NHL. This is going to be a great year for hockey!

Sakic was great to watch. Feels strange not seeing him in skates.

Huge Chicago Blackhawk fan. Ovechkin is the best player of power, speed and scoring ability I have ever seen and I have watched a lot of hockey.

Caps play the Blackhawks in Chicago towards the end of the season. I WILL be there. I think a healthy Clark and a breakout year for Laich and Semin will lead the Caps to the Cup Finals.

Go Caps!

I played Hockey growing up and I love the game, but I cannot bring myself to watch the NHL. That league is a freaking mess.
