I'll always watch ISU and B12 games even if they are in a lesser division than the P2. Maybe tune in to watch iowa...if they are winning, I'll turn the channel, if they're losing I'll keep watching. My interest in random SEC or B10 games will dwindle. Even if it's two highly ranked teams. The only way I'll be watching those is if I want to make some bets.

NIL and realignment will not directly impact my viewership. If ISU is explicitly locked out of a playoff from P2, I’ll watch ISU, but zero P2. I’d probably watch none of the other league games in that case too, so basically ISU and nothing else.

If NIL makes it impossible for ISU to be competitive I will follow them and nothing else. Then again, in 5 years my kids Will both be in college, so maybe that changes.

I've already gotten to the point where the only college football games I watch from start to finish are ISU ones. And even those, I've gotten to enjoy having Walters on while doing other things than just staring at the TV listening to national guys nonsense.

I tune into the national games for like an hour after the kids go to bed, but that's about it. I almost watch zero post season at this point.

I'm happy for our players on these award watch lists, but at the same time it must be disheartening to know it's not a level playing field, just like college football in general. We, ISU fans, know that Joel Lanning was by far the most versatile player in all of college football his senior year. When do you ever see a linebacker/quarterback? Plus he played special teams. But he wasn't a known commodity and he didn't play for Oklahoma or Texas, the only Big 12 teams that get hyped on ESPN. So he didn't win the award.

Like many on here are saying, lots of reasons to be disgusted with college football today. It seems a narrowed interest level is becoming quite common. Really sad, but completely understandable.

I will continue to watch my two alma maters and Big 12 games, but won’t have games on all day like we used to do.

For me, NIL will affect my viewership more than realignment. I have no interest in watching ISU play basketball versus a team of paid players. Admittedly, this has been going on forever (see KU), but this just seems to make the playing field even more uneven. If ISU basketball is on TV and I happen to be sitting on the couch, I'll watch. But I'll no longer schedule my day around it. I have plenty of other hobbies where i can better spend my time.

You know right now we have the best recruiting class we have ever had, right?

Yes. That is very encouraging. But last year nobody would have guessed that Hunter would be playing for Texas in 2022. I just can't get my hopes up until we know who will actually be on the roster at the start of the 2023 season.

And every season will be compartmentalized since NIL+Portal creates annual free agency. I really don't envy TJ or MC. Recruiting will now include drafting through the portal every year.
