The shot Craft got was part of our game plan all day; cut off the drive, try to limit passes inside, make them shoot 3's. The plan was solid, but they shot 50% from the 3 pt line. They shoot their season average and we win solidly. Craft going to the basket and getting to the rim or the free throw line is a much higher percentage play than him hitting a 3. They only needed one point to win. If we were up three Niang would have been in his face. 80% chance he misses that shot. The 20% gamble hit today. I don't think we play it any different if we had it to do over. Shame Babb wasn't on the floor though...

Two points:

It was a good plan by OSU to get Craft matched up against Niang. Niang can't guard him too closely so that allows him to see the floor clearly and provides plenty of airspace to get the shot off.

Niang played Craft as well as he could. He may the right choice forcing him to shoot a jumpshot. He couldn't get up any closer without having Craft blowing by him and either driving to a basket or hitting someone else for a potential layup.

And if he goes for the blowby the other three people collapse to the middle....
