NBA: Noah leaving the Bulls

""What the players have been trying to figure out in building their relationship with Hoiberg has been exactly how tied the coach is with Forman.
"They might not be as tight as everyone, including Gar, thinks," one league source said of the Hoiberg-Forman relationship.
That remains a very important issue moving forward for this team.
"We know there’s at least one assistant [coach] that tells Gar everything that goes on," the player said. "There's a lot of guys that have a problem with that, and not just Jo."""

Very interesting quote.

I don't follow the NBA much, but didn't he lose his starting position under Fred? It doesn't surprise me.

Yes, and rightfully so. Losing Noah wouldnt hurt much, IMO. I would also think there is a good chance he will get paid more by the Bulls than any other team in FA based off his time with the organization.

i am sure the hoiberg people want it to get out that he isn't tight with gar, but let's be serious...everyone knows he is. spinning that story the way that they want to won't be as easy in Chicago as it was in Ames for hoiberg.

Has he made the assistant coaching moves yet?

Not totally related to this but there was a couple of good NBA sources on twitter a few months ago who mentioned that there is a significant portion of Fred's contract which is not fully guaranteed. In the past, almost all coaching contracts have been fully guaranteed but when Fisher got fired by the Knicks it came out that he also had a portion of his contract that wasn't guaranteed.

Do they want him back? His shoulder just had major shoulder surgery and aren't his knees pretty bad too?

hoiberg said they'd try to get him back, I think. But who knows?

i don't think it's bad that they won't get him, but he is well respected in Chicago and the NBA, so I'm guessing that the Bulls can't be pleased he is bashing their $5 million coach and idiot front office on the way out.

That is interesting. I hadn't heard that about Fred or Fisher. TBH didn't know they did that at all.

This will kill any locker room morale that is left. Noah was the unquestioned leader of the Bulls under Thibodeau, played D like a maniac for him. Thibs knew that Forman and Paxson were incompetent, and they knew that he knew, so they fired him. So they hire Fred, who is intimidated by his own players, and holds no one accountable. Sad free-fall of a great NBA franchise...

Has it really been a great franchise since Jordan was run out of town and Reinsdorf proclaimed that organizations win championships and not players?

Not to hammer on the Bulls but I looked at the coaching records since Jackson.

Phil has 70 more wins than the next 7 Bulls full time coaches despite coaching in 690 fewer games. Maybe just interesting to me.....
Just think that they fired a very, very good coach who frankly intimidated the entire front office. Betcha Thibodeau totally turns around the T-Wolves.
