Carr faces Monday this morning. If he wins, he’s scheduled to have Ringer, but he left his shoes on the mat yesterday. So would likely move to the 3rd place match and a rematch with O’Toole.

Coleman starts his day with incoming PSU stud Mirasola.
Who left their shoes on the mat? Ringer?

Carr dominates Haines. Cementing himself as a real contender for the 74kg spot next year. Great win. O’Toole will always be a thorn, but he may stay at 79 in non Olympic years.

Coleman beaten handily by Macchiavelo, but still a great showing. It will be great for our upper weights to have him in the room.

Thanks for bringing this back up. I heard on something the other day that Carr is going to worlds with Burroughs as his primary training partner. What a great opportunity for him!
I think JB and Carr are good friends, they worked out together prior to WTT.

HE got worked pretty hard, his shots just weren't very crisp probably due to Saud's defense.

Burroughs and Vito also lost. No golds for USA. Hope there will be a few bronzes still.

What a disappointment to not see JB end with a medal. A lot of speculation that this was his last run at it. He's always been the most competitive wrestler when he steps on the mat and if it is his last competition, he will be greatly missed out there. Wish he couldn't ran down the Iranian or the Iranian finished the job in the semis to pull him back in.

That Gassempour vs Sadulaev match was super close. Iran had the lead with 8 seconds left and Sad got the td. Taylor will have his fans full in the bronze match if he gets there.
Just depends on which person he'd get for bronze, he may not get Gassempour.

If he gets that far, that's who he'd have. They are on the same side of the bracket.
