Our 2015 class is far from good if that's what you are sayingnew coach plus amazingly solid roaster equals low recruiting and prohm still did good.
Looking forward to movement on 2016.

I must me confused somehow. This years team isnt good? Highest preseason ranking in years. Our 2015 class is far from good if that's what you are saying
The team is great. The 2015 class we are bringing in is not.I must me confused somehow. This years team isnt good? Highest preseason ranking in years.
I see. The few recruits. We didn't have much space other than on the bench. PG, PF, and C were filled and solid competition at SG and SF. Only needed backups and could try for a better SF, but didn't need much. The team is great. The 2015 class we are bringing in is not.
We've brought in Noskowiak, Custer, the Greek, Ernst and Carter out of HS in the last two years.
We got Carter because he found out a month before school started that he didn't get into SMU. We got Ernst because he literally had no P5 offers. NN didn't have many options either. We all know the drill on Custer and Tsalboris who were outmatched at this level.
What is it about Ames that makes it so difficult to recruit talented HS kids?
Looked at the 2015 class rankings and it was just another reminder of how huge of a class 2016 is for us. Make or break for Prohm imo.
Correct.
The 2016 class will likely make or break the Prohm regime in Ames. The best way to bring in a great 2016 class will be to have a highly successful season this year.
I think a lot of our bigger targets for 2016 are in kind of a "wait and see" mode right now with ISU and Prohm. They want to see how good Prohm is this year at ISU before deciding possibly.
It's just going to be REALLY interesting to see how Prohm handles all these scholarships. How will he mix them up between JUCO's, transfers, and high school kids?
I believe I saw that they were his first offer and the kid made it sound like a loyalty thing so getting in early on kids is obviously really important when you aren't a blue blood who can enter the game late and "steal" recruits. But honestly a lot of schools around the same level pull in top 50 level recruits often so it's not like you have to be a blue blood to get top recruits. In my opinion once you first pull in a level of recruits it's easier to pull in recruits of that caliber in the future. You just have to get those first ones.Yeah, Washington, who has struggled and not even made the NCAA's the past 2 or 3 years, pulls in a 5-star this week for 2016 and has a highly ranked class for this year. How did Romar pull that off considering the lack of success, etc. Is it the school, the area, recruiting ties, what?

Is this really a question that you would like answered or are you just being a doosh? I just don't want to waste my time if I don't have to.
I have never seen anything specific about when a player officially "counts" towards the scholly count for the year but I can't imagine a player who has yet to practice or play for a team leaves the team more than a month before the start of practice would count. It's no different than a player decommitting due to a coaching change.I don't get how his scholarship is open for this season? He never started using it or what?
Every recruit that Washington goes after seems to always talk about what a great relationship they have with Romar. He seems to relate to players well. Players want to play for coaches that they get along with.Yeah, Washington, who has struggled and not even made the NCAA's the past 2 or 3 years, pulls in a 5-star this week for 2016 and has a highly ranked class for this year. Why would I not want the question answered since it's a recruiting message board? Besides, there's a lot worse or other dumb things or topics brought up here than this. But please don't waste your time.... you do enough of that responding rudely to just about all my posts.
While I agree how big 2016 is, I hope people are patient and should 'expect' mostly jucos and transfers. Relationships are built up long before the season before a recruit commits (unless you get to sweep in late and get anyone you want like the blue bloods can). Think we'll have to take our lumps (hopefully small ones) in 2016 as far as top-100 hs kids goes and realize maybe 2017 is our most important recruiting year. I think Coffey, Tyler Cook, and Yakwe would be Clones right now if Fred's plans were to stay here for years to come. Now we have to give Prohm time to develop those relationships.
