I felt like last years team with Kane, Ejim and Niang were pretty special. This years team is an 8 man rotation with Niang as the catalyst.

I give Monte the "co-catalyst" position. He doesn't score as much as Georges but he has the ball more than anyone else and scores when needed. Both 1st Team Big XII next year, with Georges an All-American and, depending on how well we do, Monte will be in the conversation as well.

I could actually see Monte getting AA before Georges. Georges is getting all the kudos this year but with the season Monte just had there should be a lot of hype for him next fall. The kid can just flat out play and he just keeps getting better. His transformation from this year to last was awesome to watch. He is clutch, end of story.

I still have a soft spot for the Tinsley/Horton/Shirley bunch who dominated the Big 12 even after Fizer left. (The Hampton fiasco notwithstanding.) Last year's team came together so well - so late - and the swagger Kane gave us was priceless. (Take THAT, Roy Williams!) But between Georges, Jameel, and Man-Man, this year'e team is special.... and I think Niang will go down in ISU lore as one of the most beloved ballers EVER. The man's heart is huge.

Niang is probably my favorite Cyclone. Total baller, great sense of humor, and helps keep the Iowa rivalry burning nicely. Trolling Hok fans over twitter and right at CHA was priceless.
