Im not completly sure but didnt Knott originally want to play baseball after HS. He throws like 88-92 off the mound. Also ive seen the records at Waukee its true about his lifting stats.

Here is a link to world powerlifting records: Men's 198 Pound/90 Kg Weight Class Top 20 | Powerlifting Watch

I'm not completely dismissing this claim about Knott but a lift of 705 would put him just outside the top 20 for world records for 198 lb. Weight class (which I believe was around his weight in hs). not to mention, nearly all the record holders were in their mid-20s to early 40s.

That is an awesome article. Hearing that Burris is up to 293 is great. Maybe he slides inside to RG for Haughton and Lichtenberg takes over at RT. Or maybe Hicks is back this fall. I don't know but losing Haughton ******* sucks.

I honestly feel that by November the defense could be force. There is a lot of young talent that just needs some experience. Guys like McDonough, Reeves, Washington, Knott, and Klein. Even some freshman like George, who is supposedly one of the best athletes on the team, could make a huge impact.

I think Jake weighed about 225 coming out of high school. He's got no neck now. Looks like a football player (or a power lifter).

Funny you say that. One time last year me and a buddy were watching a game. He made the comment, "Iowa State doesn't look like other teams." He was right. In the past we just didn't seem to have the same look, the same body type. Things like the quoted say that that is changing. I don't care how we look but the way we look reflects what our s&c program is like.

I thought 705 was from college. The high school record i saw was like 500+

in your response you said you saw the records at Waukee.

I'd be surprised if isu tests for deadlift...it's not a typical lift that is tested in college fball.

That was a great article.

Rony Nelson and Rashawn Parker as bookends to Jake McDonough and Rumplehoemer looks like a rotation with some potential. More production up front would make a world of difference. I am very anxious to see Jake play this year.

After reading this article, I seriously doubt that Rony Nelson will see much playing time this year. He is not working out with the team and will probably show up to fall camp slow and out of shape. Do you really think he can beat out an experienced guy like Pat Neal who has had a great summer and is probably in the best football shape of his life? Unless he is an athlete on the scale of Jason Berryman I doubt he cracks the third string until late fall.

Whichever of them, Pat or Rony, starts, they will both play, and I'm betting we will be improved at all front 4 positions of the 4-3 this year over last year.

Rony may not be spending all his time texting and studying. This guy has played well and is probably already puching Neal et al. even though he isn't even on campus yet. He is a juco and needs to hit the ground running. Chances are, he is working out and will report in shape and compete.

I was talking to a player last night... said he still wasn't sure yet if Ronny would be a Cyclone or not next year.

It wasn't mentioned in the article, but I have dropped down to 195 yet still run a +5.0 40.
