An obviously putrid call. But we still got it at the 31 and didn’t score. Our lack of execution cost us that game, not any individual call.

I'm not sure if you were there last night but the stadium was electric after that play. The cyclone players were jacked up, the kansas players were rattled and when it was moved back to the 31 everything flipped back. In the grand scheme of things you are right, it was one play but the momentum swing on that play was ENORMOUS

This, not to mention it’s much easier to score at least 3 points starting at the 1 as opposed to the 31.

No to make excuses for not scoring, but it’s worth noting that they’re different

Stupid opinion.

When any play is made, you could say this. Officials cannot take away the results of a great play.

What should have happened on the incredible catch last night for Kansas where their guy caught it on his back in double coverage was.... incomplete due to catching on back. That's as justified as calling Noel out when he wasn't.

When you make a play, you should enjoy the rewards of making the play. That includes the higher probability of scoring from the 2 than the 31.

I'm sorry, but blaming anyone but the refs for us not scoring there is ********.

What was the score and how much time left in the game when this happened?

Yeah, the whole "don't blame the refs" and "blame the ISU execution" ideology is BS. We did execute. We executed enough to get the ball down to the 2. We executed enough to rip the ball away from the RB and take it to the house. We executed enough to get a 3rd down stop before a bogus PI call extended their drive. Luckily, they missed the FG. Why do we have to execute SO much more than the teams we play to "deserve" to win? We shouldn't have to be 15 points better than a team to take them to overtime.

That's absolute horse**** call. If you slow the video down he's staring directly down at the 3 second mark, his foot isn't anywhere close to being out, then he makes his call at the 4 second mark to stop the play.

I'm so sick of refs trying to interject into everything like this. There's no way he saw what he thought he saw.

He did blow the call bad, and it obviously was the wrong call.

However, CMC should be smart enough to know that it cannot be reviewed. Did he really question in his presser why it wasn’t reviewed?

About all they could do is apologize. It was bad call and i was a raving lunatic yelling about it at the game, even without seeing that replay or knowing that the ref was standing a few feet from the play when he made the call. But he shouldn’t be fired. Thats a bit much. It was a huge moment in a big game that could have swung things our way, but we cant say it cost us the game or not. It just sucks.

He should have been out there getting ejected and lighting a fire into his team right when the play happened. There's no way you can stop the play like that, you have to let it play out and then review it.
