So, stats don't lie:

Chapman from Texas career highs:
7-9 from the field, 5-7 ft's, 14 rebounds, 4 offensive - 19 total points. 1 block, 2 tunovers, 0 assists
White's line:
3-6 from the field. 8-17 ft's, 6 rebounds, 1 offensive, 14 total points. 1 block, 4 turnovers, 2 assists.

That's the head to head matchup of one of the worst big guys in the league. Say what you want, but far from dominant like you guys think!

Seriously, just stop. You made one stupid post, which is forgivable. Let it go there

So standing around watching loose balls on the court it playing hard? Not getting back on D is playing hard? Does he ever just post up down low?

He is a talent yes, and a good players now, but he could be so much better. Just because you have talent and it is natural doesnt mean you dont have to work at it. The best players in the country have talent and work at it.

Exactly my point. Most of these fans show up watch Royce cross over and have a monster dunk and think that he dominates the game. I miss a pleyr like Fizer who battled every possesion, worked as hard def. as offensively and was always playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Okay, tell me how White dominated this game?

You mean how he pretty much singlehandedly fouled 3 guys out for Texas? How he broke their press all night? Or were you meaning that he facilitated our offense for most of the game and distributed to shooters?

PS- Rick Barnes is a good recruiter.

OP shut the f*** up you dbag troll. Did you even bother to go to the game? Because the game I attended had Allen playing okay, Royce playing well, and the team hustling and hitting the floor. A team win. Gave up too many easy buckets and missed too many FTs, but the only thing that matters is they won the game and played better than in the earlier games.

I don't get it. Yes, ISU deserves some criticism for several of the past games. This game? They put a ton of effort on the floor. They played their butts off and never gave up, never put their heads down. I'm proud of this team more this game than any other we've played all season.

How can you be so critical of nearly every player on the team, then give such great props to Texas. Didn't ISU win the game? Aren't you a clone fan? WTF?

After Texas came back for the second time, Royce took over at point/forward for several possessions, and was flat out unstoppable while ISU rebuilt its lead. What's his nuts from Texas was someone that absolutely no one game planned around stopping because he hardly ever scores. He took advantage of the lack of attention and played a good game. That's it. I don't remember anyone comparing him to Anthony Mason.

Just when I think you couldn't be any more off base...I'd say without question Royce is as close a talent to Fizer as we've had since he left.

The OP is a troll if everyone hasn't figured that out. Well, he's either a troll or the most ignorant person on the board.

By the time he's done, we may be able to say that we've never seen a talent like him before.

That doesn't mean better or worse than Fizer. It just means that his particular skill set is very unique, and very astounding. When he sweats, of course.

I don't understand how you can bash Royce after tonight other than maybe his FT shooting. He had a good game tonight. I thought it was also his best defensive effort of the year.

Hey Cory, why don't you get ahold of Rick Barnes and see if he'd like to trade Chapman for Royce. Let me know what he says.

Royce white is no Marcus fizer. I Never hoped that fizer would be pulled from a close game at the end and I was begging Fred to pull royce with a minute left tonight.

Great win for us. Good play from royce. But he did not play hard for long stretches of the game and many people seem to think that a few very exciting plays and tons of potential exempt him from some very obvious criticisms made by the original poster. Does anyone think that Chapman will have a better night this year than he had tonight?

Cory - Didn't Chapman score 1/2 his points while Royce was on the bench with 2 fouls in the first half?

If you are comparing Royce's first season to Fizers 3rd year when he was runner up player of the year than yes you are correct. Royce is definately playing at a higher level than Fizer in his first season and at least as good as Fizer's sophomore year. I remember several times in Fizer's sophomore season in which he was seen sulking after LE had benched him for poor play. The Iowa game was one of those games. It seems like you might have a case of selective memory.

Now CA on the other hand is frustrating to watch. He has a lot of talent but doesn't quite grasp what is and isn't a good shot to take. I think if Bubu wasn't banged up Fred was prepared to give him more of the minutes at the point.

.

The game plan may have been make Chapman beat us, and worry about the rest of the team more. I think out bigs played one of their better games for the most part, they just need to learn how not to foul.

I was at the game and I agree White does not hustle. Twice a Texas player poked the ball away from him from behind him and he just stood there while the Texas player ran by him and got the ball. At least twice after a made basket by us his man out ran him down the court and scored a layup as Royce jogged back on defense. He does not block out his man to rebound but goes to the rim. He is the worst help defender on the team. He had a couple opportunities to take a charge and let the man drive by him and then tries to block the shot from behind. Allen took several forced shots tonight with a Texas player right in his face and Fred took him out of the game immediately after one of those shots.
